Or a top 5, if you can't decide on just one. Like me.
Any genre of music.
Here's my favorite 5 (all in metal genre:)
Sakis Tolis from Rotting Christ, he's a hero
Johan Hegg from Amon Amarth, my fav band of all time.
Mikael Akerfeldt from Bloodbath (and Opeth too I believe)
Peter Tägtgren from Hypocrisy, he's great on both their early and more recent albums
Helmuth from Belphegor (don't know his real name)
..yeah I could probably go on and on, but I'd better leave it at these 5.
And yes, I searched before posting. I madez my first tfread yay!

Yeah im gonna say Mikael Akerfeldt. From Brutal to Pretty in less then a beat.

Oh I also like James LaBree. Anyone who can get a high F# is pretty great in my books

First prize goes to the legend that is Jeff Mangum (Neutral Milk Hotel). Second prize would probably end up in the hands of Joey Cape (Lagwagon) or Julieta Venegas (random Latin pop).

EDIT: Ah. Chris Cornell. Him too.

Phil Anselmo of (mainly) Pantera, Down and Superjoint Ritual. Just the most expressive vocals I've heard. I must have some sort of undiagnosed hyperactivity disorder as I used to get very over-excited as a kid. As I've got older I've had to refine myself to vocal emissions so it's not unusual for my family to hear me singing/screaming Phil's vocals now and again (along with whatever other noises I make to 'relieve myself').

Mikael Akerfeldt of Bloodbath and Opeth (I like Bloodbath better)
Bill Steer of Carcass
Joe Duplantier of Gojira
and my personal favorite, Jason Keyser of Skinless
Yes theyre all death metal vocalists but if you think it's "not singing" you can fuck off.

My personal fave is Tony Kakko from Sonata Arctica. He's awesome both live and in the studio.

Edit: *smacks head* Ozzy. Duh. He's epic. Tony's my favorite, but damn, people, Ozzy is Ozzy.

David Ruffin from The Temptations is one of the greatest singers I've ever heard, based on pure talent.

However, David Bowie is also amazing, based on the incredible things he can do with his voice. His range is absolutely incredible.

Johan Hegg of Amon Amarth. He lives out his vocals.
Quorthon of Bathory. Such a variety.
Varg Vikernes of Burzum. The man's voice could be its own horror movie.
