Here's a broad but common thing we run into in games/movies/literature, weapons! Creative ways of killing or incapacitating other humans!

Well, think about all your favorite things to watch/play/read and what the characters in them wield. Swords? Guns?

Which one is king?

Only rule - Must be light enough for one human to carry

Weapons.
There are so many weapons in every media, heck, some are only made inside that media.
Books can treat magic like weapons. Anime has people turning into weapons. And of course something that was gifted to us recently ... A sexual item can become a weapon, for example, the dildo bat from Saints Row.

Creativity these days is a wonderful thing.
Yet, I choose blades, not just any blade, but the sword.

Yes, I know, it could be one of the most plain choices here, but I have intrigue with this weapon. Sure, one of the more earliest forms of weapon, but I just like how people thought "slim, long metal = pointy/sharp stick of death". Then from there, we have stabbed, slashed, and 'scratched' [https://youtu.be/zKhEw7nD9C4?t=1m26s] other soft human beings.

Plus, it has given many legends, heroes, and others grand weapons, which give birth to tales. I mean, without the legend of King Arthur and Excalibur, we wouldn't have such best waifus characters like Saber from Fate/Stay Night. Of course, this comes with the bloody but glorious battles we've heard of. I mean, if you have seen real steel hit together in real life, it is very ... Primal, I guess, it reaches in you and pulls out the rawest of all instincts.

Without them, we wouldn't have Berserk, and without Berserk, humanity wouldn't have a single person to focus all of their hate upon.
I mean, for fuck sake Griffith is such a-

*ahem*

I mean, yeah, that is my point. Plus this [http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/berserk/images/7/76/DragonslayerWield.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20121224151805] is awesome.
So yeah, swords, a origin for many good things. Yet looking up, well, there are many other awesome weapons.

I've always had a thing for spears. Swords are for a hero, hammers for a noble, and axes are for a savage. Spears are for someone who is a little more clever. Think Odin in mythology. A warrior no doubt, but he's not going to out fight you he's going to out think you.

It's design is simple, yet stylish, and who needs to get up close and personal with the enemy when you can take him out from half a battlefield away.

Also useful for large blocks of infantry who want to win battles.

As someone who plays RPG characters that favour either a bow, or duel wielding blades, I will have to say that my favourite weapon in media is Pit's Bow from Kid Icarus... And if I had to choose it would be the Palutena Bow, which is also the one he has in Super Smash Bros. (Mostly because it looks cool, looks like blades, and has the cool halo's that appear around Pit's arms.)

Come on... Bow AND Twin blades? Hell yeah!

InB4 Dr who Fans by saying the Sonic Screwdriver since all of the good ones has been mention already!

Well ok the only other one I can think of that hasn't been mention yet is the Green Lantern ring-

In saying so I know for a fact I lack the will power to wield it so I guess my alternative would be a Red Lantern that is if I want to become a blood vomiting rage induse psychopath or maybe the orange lantern ring if I want to become a overally obsess monster!

Gaming wise, I always have been extremely biased towards the most powerfull automatic corrosive weapon in the first Borderlands, named the Serpens.

If we're going that route, just take one of these

Better yet, switch universes
There is reason why I mention those two among the rainbow rings. I don't exactly embrace life but I do got some hidden anger and obsession.

Gotta go with the good old fashioned European/fantasy broadsword. As for which ones?

Simple, beautiful, evil beings cower in fear from sacredest of swords. I also love how its design has changed over the years, yet it still retain its iconic features.

Another sword would be Chrom's Falchion from Fire Emblem Awakening.

Funny enough, it's one of the weakest swords in the game until it gets powered up later, but I still like using it anyway.

Honorable mention goes to Pokeballs and Pokemon. They aren't weapons, but they are used in battle to incapacitate wild Pokemon, trainer Pokemon, an evil team member's Pokemon, etc. Its hard to beat summoning powerful creatures from a ball that can fit in your pocket.
