Ah the 90s...fast running 16bit hedgehogs, getting your lemmings to safety, HADOUKEN! and RPGs where you had to fight every time you moved half an inch.

We all have our 90s favourites from when we were younger, but what are yours? I'm going straight away for Grim Fandango, Street Fighter 2 Turbo The New Challengers, Toejam and Earl 2, Resident Evil, Monkey Island, Command and Conquer, Secret of Mana and Robin Hood: Conquests of the Longbow. Wow they spark memories?

Care to share some 90s gaming favourites?

Judging solely on the amount of time I put in them, I'd say Cold Shadow, Kirby Super Star, Yoshi's Island, Goof Troop and the Donkey Kong Country trilogy on the SNES; then Spyro 2: Rypto's Revenge and the Crash Bandicoot games on the PS.

Heh, apparently my 90's was a little different to yours. The ones I liked the best?

Ocarina of Time
Pokemon Yellow
Syndicate
Dungeon Keeper
Wing Commander
FreeSpace
X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter
Half-Life

And those were just the ones I played in either the 90's or really early 2000's. For reference, I didn't attend school until 2000. My parents introduced me to games early and really didn't care which of theirs I got my hands on. =D

Ah I forgot about Dungeon Keeper - what a great game! I remember playing Half Life too. The beginning bit where you went through the lab was pretty epic as i recall.

Heh, it's probably worth replaying - with the Black Mesa mod, if it catches your fancy. I was quite impressed with the opening as well.

Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. Played that shit into the ground. Funnily enough, I never finished the single player story, I mostly played online or downloaded maps and mods to try out.

I played the hell out of X-Wing and TIE Fighter. However, Grim Fandango will always hold a special place in my heart.

You already mentioned a few of mine with the LucasArts adventures (god, i love them all). Doom and ShadowWarrior where also titles i loved to play. I also played Warcraft 1-2. Otherwise i was a Nintendo guy and the Donkey Kong games deserve a special mentioning same goes for the Mario titles /especially Mario Kart delivered tons of mp fun.
Inbetween are pc games like Diablo, Oddworld:A.O. and MDK.
In the later years i played Tenchu way more than MGS and i have fond memories of the first two Syphon Filter games, Ridge Racer and Medal of Honor 1-2.
Those are the games comming to my mind right now and i`m sure i forgot alot of other titles i liked and loved to play.

Ape Escape
Unreal Tournament
Curse of Monkey Island
Banjo-Kazooie
Lylat Wars
Red Alert

Stealing one of Kayo's - Hell yeah Super Smash Bros.

I have a lot of 90's games I like... a LOT of games I like. But these are some of those games that I still play today. I could put things like Sonic the Hedgehog and all that stuff in here but I feel they do not need to be posted.

Doom
Half Life
Spyro the Dragon (my first dip into console gaming)
GoldenEye 007
...and a Mario game I really can't rememeber the name of, but spent hours and hours playing it on Gameboy.

The 90s are kinda distant to me now, maybe something to do with being the first decade of my life and all, but I do have some clear memories of the good times me and a small group of mates had gaming.

Ah Quest For Glory. Old school. You know I only ever played the first one...which I remember liking. But I kept dying in ways that I would not have expected, which was kind of frustrating. Which was the best one in your opinion?

Too many to list but i'll whack Final Fantasy 3 up there for opening my eyes as to what a real RPG was all about on consoles.

I'll also whack TaeKwonDo on the SNES in there as well, what a lil ripper of a fighting game that turned out to be.

Definitely the Classic Sonic series (1, 2, 3, & Knuckles).

I also enjoyed the Disney movie-/cartoon-based games (yes, there was a time when movie-based video games were good/enjoyable), Vector Man, Pokemon, a handful of N64 titles, a lot of Mario titles, and of course, Megaman X.
