Favourite Colossus

So, The Team Ico Collection has been out for a few days now and I assume that most people will have completed it, so it's time to pose the question.

Which Colossus did you enjoy fighting the most?

For me, it's a toss up between number 13 (huge desert, flying, snake, thing), and the final Colossus (the rest look tiny compared to this guy).

Number 13 has a huge sense of open space, making the Colossus even more impressive, and it's one of the only two that can fly in the entire game.

The final Colossus is perfect for just bringing the whole adventure to a close and that sense of approaching dread at what will happen.

Well, I have no idea what their numbers were, but I liked the lizard thing in the colusseum. Don't know why, but I thought it was really fun.

You know which one I hated? The last one. It's a giant crossdresser that can't even move. Giant[footnote]See what I did there?[/footnote] letdown.

Ah yes, I remember running up and down so many steps for that one.

I thought the cat fish one was beautiful but my favourite is the horse-like one. Impossible to fall off it unless you really try, and it reminded me of a curious little puppy.

The bird one too now that I think about it. Jumping onto that thing was so fun!

For me, it has to be the lake bird (#5). Clinging for dear life as the bird tries to shake you off its wing (while the fantastic score is booming away in the background I might add) is an epic experience beyond compare.

I always liked 5 (giant bird) and 7 (the underwater one). Toss up between those two.

- 5 is a very dynamic fight and the speed made it all extra exciting.
- 7 had a very simple strategy and that always made for a straightforward fight, but the water environment made it very unique. Somehow gave it a bit more urgency.

I agree, it's certainly my favourite in the early part of the game.

Just for the fact that you can tumble the ***** over and watch him fall like the freaking mountain that he is.

I can't vouch for the last two colossi, as I never got that far.

The thirtieth, fifth and tenth are my favourites. All three of them were fun to fight, and were not frustrating in the least. The thirteenth was very epic indeed, and the tenth in particular was a great fight with the whole firing arrows on horseback thing.

I however, didn't like the first two much as they were far too easy. The ninth was a cakewalk as well. The eleventh colossi was just pathetic, and it shouldn't of been in the game (that small little thing is defiently not a colossus). Also, i found the Twelfth, and seventh colossi's to be frustrating chores.

My favorite has always been the one with the giant beard, you know the one i'm talking about right? The entire battle with that thing is just awesome. I am also giving a special mention to the 5th boss as it is also a great amount of fun. Plus when you kill it and let go of the grab button you can see a tiny little dot falling with it's body which I always thought was awesome.

Edit: I'm adding that one that you control by hitting the things on it's head, that's a fun one as well.

I remember fighting that guy for the first time when the game originally came out all those years ago.

You get a real sense of how much that guy weighs, it felt like the world shook.

Damn that's a tough one, there are so many good ones.

I guess if I have to choose, my favorites would probably include 3,4,5,10,13,15,and 16.

My least favorites would have to be 9 and probably 12. Both fights were rather tedious and annoying. As for the rest, they were all fun, just not as fun as my favorites.

So many to choose from... Probably #5, since it feels a bit more intense than the other flying Colossus due to its soaring speed and the music which is probably my favourite track in the game. #3 also comes to mind since it's just so towering (even for a Colossus) and the whole "running on a giant club" -thing. I also gotta give huge credit to the sand snake, was it #10 or #9, which creeps the shit out of me no matter how many times I fight him. Seriously, those eyes. THOSE EYES!

In the end, it's an entire game of some of the best boss battles I know, so it would be a lot easier to pick the ones that didn't stand out as much as the others.

I'm gonna go with Cenobia, the lion/bull colossus. Not to be confused with Celosia, the wildcat colossus. I had a great deal of fun fighting Cenobia because of the way the environment you fight that colossi in is used in the actual battle. And I absolutely love the music that plays during the fight with Argus. It plays for a couple others but I don't remember which ones. Phalanx was a rather fun fight, too.

The only ones I really hated fighting was Pelagia, because trying to force it into moving in the direction you want it to go was a pain the ass because it would always go TOO FAR. Argus was an irritating sonuvabitch, too, with the way he'd thrash constantly. I seriously fought Argus for 2 hours because I couldn't get him to stop thrashing long enough for me to stab him in the head. Not with a fully charged stab, but I couldn't even get the charging animation started before he began thrashing again.
