Favourite tower defence game(s)

One TDG I've enjoyed lately is "GemCraft chapter 0" from Armor Games. You use mana to create gems, merge them into stronger gems, and use them to destroy seals, so you can place more towers.
I also like South Park:LGTDP.

Immortal Defence. It costs money but it's the best in the genre that I've seen.

Cursed Treasure is a good one, along with its expansion levels add on.

Also, Creeper World was enjoyably long, each level ran me about 45 min.

Warcraft 3...the original is always the best. Well I'm sure there were earlier versions of something like it, but that was probably the first widespread creation of TDs.

The Gemcraft games have always been my favorite, the new one is pretty good. Cursed Treasure after that.

Defense Grid for me. Definitely the best I've ever played. Plenty of maps plus a lot of modifiers for the maps for several different ways to play the same maps.

I haven't played any TD games that weren't flash games, but out of those, my favorites are Gem Craft and Cursed Treasure. I also really like Protector, but I think it's hard. xD

Plants VS Zombies. Come on, that game is awesome.
As for free ones, there was one on Kongregate that had some RPG elements to it, that was very cool. Three paths to upgrade, demons, goblins and... Something else. I dunno. It was cool though. Help me out anyone?

Starcraft was the first. Was pretty widespread too, they just moved to War3 the same way they're moving to SC2 now.

Soldier TD & Elemental Towers from WC3, they're super awesome.

I haven't really played many tower games outside SC & WC3, only thing I can think of is PvZ on my phone.

Sol Survivor was really good. Played a demo of it on Steam and ended up buying the full game.

I agree, it's actually the only tower defense game that I liked enough to replay the levels for a higher score.

If you liked that you should play Labyrinth. Everything the previous 2 had with better interfaces, and the near useless splash gem has been replaced with something much more devastating. It does have that premium nonsense, but it literally costs pocket change.

Mine still is Bloons Tower Defense, a free Flash game series.

Shame Bloons Tower Defense 4 sold out, and had many features you had to A. pay for or B. spend ungodly amounts of time playing it to acquire.
