Lets face it, sometimes the villains are cooler. So, what is your favorite one? From where? Why?
Well that about it.

My favorite villain is Revolver Ocelot from MSG. The guy is so full of himself, poppin him is like popping a balloon filled with happy.

Same, really. In MGS2, he's just so badass and insane, especially when
Liquid is taking over his mind through his arm.

I'd also vote for Seymour from FFX. Yes, I hate him but everytime I see him I always go 'SEYMOURR!' so...yeah.

Meet Father Kotomine.

For further context, he's a badass who took on a Servant Spirit on equal terms (an Assassin, granted, but still), wears bulletproof vestments, is a master at kempo, wonderfully sarcastic,

And is the only character I've ever seen whose reason for being evil is "he's just evil," and still manages to expand that into a sort of sympathetic backstory.

Also, he's voiced by Jouji Nakata. That counts for a lot.

Dr. Breen. (Wallace Breen)

He's just awesome, never had a better and more personal welcome to a city.

Saren is pretty good because he's ruthless and has motives I can identify with, although I don't really agree with them.
Ocelot is always solid, especially in MGS3 with his gun-juggling and other cool tricks and

the fact that he's a triple agent.

But yeah, the Tediz are fun.

Hm. Someone villainous and unspeakably evil, who everyone loves to hate...

But, being serious... umm, the villain I'd most like to have the powers of would probably have to be Ultimecia from FFVIII - being able to time travel, magic, control others' minds and actions would be pretty sweet. Just think of the possibilities!!

Saren from Mass Effect.

I loved him in the game and I loved him more in the prequel novel.

If you want to know what happened.
At the end of the book Saren and Anderson infiltrate a factory controlled by a ruthless gang to rescue an important professor. Inside Anderson was busy looking for her and going about unseen. Saren takes his own route and promptly kills every personnel he come to contact with (including innocent people who were forced to work for the gang). Eventually he comes the the factory's center and starts a chain reaction while knowing that both Anderson and innocent personnel are likely to die. But the factory has a neighboring housing facility filled with hundreds of innocent civilians. To make this short, Anderson eventually rescues the professor and escapes, The factory explodes killing basically everybody, Saren puts the blame on Anderson, Anderson is banned from the specters.

Any villain who kills an entire small town and then blames his partner and gets away with it, is awesome in my book.

Kuja from FFIX. Seriously, have you seen his clothes? Takes guts to wear something like that.

In a game that I played, I'd have to say General RAAM from Gears of War. RAAM is just, in my opinion, a lot more intimidating because of his monsterous size, attitude, and strength. Skorge, although he is anything from easy on the eyes himself, is just a Kantus on steroids (hence why he can jump 50ft straight up) with a chainstaff. In fact, if it wasn't for the chainstaff, Skorge would've been just an annoying Kantus with like triple health.

In a game I haven't played just watched the cutscenes online, Albert Wesker from Resident Evil 5. Everything from his hairstyle down to his voice and condesending tone, not to mention his super-human powers, just scream bad ass villian. But I like his human form better than his mutant form you fight in the last level. For some reason, a human likeness with non-human abilities is just more unsettling than seeing one of those giant, black, slug-thingys.

Oh, one more from a game I played, Dimitri Rascolov from GTA IV. He seemed like a good friend at first but then he turns on you in a very well thought out way that surprised me the first time I played the game and still does the 5th time I've played through. His cool condesending attitude along with his backstabing life-style and usually drugged out calm state from all the painkillers he takes, he's just one of those characters that you just love to hate.

The Emporer out of Star Wars: Battlefront II. He was just awesome. Oh and he could sort of do this punch the ground thing in an explosion of force lightning. It was beautiful.

Ahhh Fate/Stay Night, awesome series. I agree with your choice.

Personaly, my villains change depedning on the context:

Video Games: Albert Wesker, always stuck to his values, kicked ass and went down fighting (Resident Evil)

Books: Artemis Entreri, calm, cool and the best assassin in the Realms (Forgotten Realms)

TV: Yellow Eyed Demon
Mastermind behind the release of the devil
(Supernatural)

Movies: John Doe, played by Kevin Spacey (which does add to it) Creepy and deranged, master of manipulation (Se7en)

Comics: Dr Doom, the best mad scientist out there (Fantastic Four)

Sniper Wolf from MGS. She was awesome because,

she was capable of waiting for her targets for days, even weeks, without moving or even eating.-Taken straight out of wiki.
Though she was somewhat of a good guy I guess. Hm..

Wiseman from Baten Kaitos Origins.

Nothing about him is ever explained. Not where he came from, who he is, if he's human, or what his true goals are. All the player knows is that he wants to:

turn all humans on the planet into 'Magnus', i.e., concentrated spirit, whether they want to, or not.

He also uses the royal 'we' for no explained reason and wears a metallic, birdlike helmet as well as flowing blue robes.
