It is what it is.

I propose a celebration of the voice that you enjoy hearing the most.

I didn't put this in gaming because it can be any voice. A family member, friend, someone you like on TV or radio.. or computer games, whatever your choice.

My favourite voice comes from David Warner.

*A golden cookie will be awarded to the person who can guess 'why' that is my favourite*

The question is... what is yours? And... why?

For me, Malcolm McDowell.
I just love his voice and voicework, in the various roles he's played.

Honorable mentions go to Tim Curry, and Keith David.
I think the first time I came across Malcolm McDowell was when I watched Star Trek: Generations.

My mother and brother were very much established trekkies whilst I was a child, so it was ingrained into me from an early age - which led me to see this film when I was very young.

A fine choice!

Malcolm McDowell is a good choice. He was brilliant as John Henry Eden.

For me though, I think I'd have to pick... erm... Either Steve Blum, Keith David, or Mel Blanc.

Out of them Mel Blanc probably has the most range, but David and Blum are just so awesome...

I guess since the Cowboy bebop ending is so fresh in my mind I'll go with Blum for now.

Bang!

See ya space cowboy.

Probably Leonard Cohen. A beautiful voice, and beautiful poetry.

Did anybody say Patrick Stewart? 'Cause I think I just heard someone say Patrick Stewart! Probably because it's Patrick Stewart that's the right answer!

There's Tony Jay, obviously...

Kate Bush
Thom York
Christopher Lee
Hetty Heyting (Dutch actress, writter, and voice actress)
Paul Haenen (another Dutch guy)
Jeff Bridges
Freddie Mecury

That's about it for now.

Nicholas Thorburn aka Nick Diamonds.
Manly Palmer Hall
Rob Wells

Then not so much for his vocal talent but his way of saying everything like its not just some BS he's making up on the spot(David Icke seriously needs to take lessons)... Micheal Tsarion.

So, you enjoy the Picard? Here you go:

OT: I know this may be cheating, but I call upon wizards!

One deep and sinister (enough to make his own death metal album), the other kindly and comforting. Both great actors and powerful personalities. I can see why they were chosen for their respective roles in those films.

...Then there's Tom Baker, a completely different kind of magician:

I'd believe anything the man says. Dudes my noble pops after all (Vault 13 HOO-RA)

Though I'm found of the typecast voices myself this guys especially.

I have no idea what he's singing about, why I'd care, or why his voice is so beautiful.

I'm not sure who does the voice, but there's more expression in this voice than in whole casts from other games.

Christopher Lee has the best voice.

And by extension, Corey Burton, who does a pretty cool impression.

I guess that would be Tara Strong since she had voice many great characters like Timmy Turner, Sari Sundec, Raven, Twilight Sparkle, Harley Quinn and etc.

I totally agree with you about that.

I'd also like to add Morgan Freeman. Pure awesomeness. He can read the most boring text and make it amazing.

The guy who plays Sterling Archer has an awesome voice too.

Star Wars also gave us some good voices. Ian McDiarmid is amazing, especially when he becomes evil. And of course James Earl Jones as Darth Vader!

Mark Hamill is also amazing as the Joker. And that reminded me of another great psycho voice: Mike Patton. He is great in The Darkness games or in any of his bands. Dave Gaham from Depeche Mode has a great voice as well!

Lord of the Rings movies had Ian Mckellen and Christopher Lee which were already mentioned.

And speaking of bands, my favourite girls' voices are Tarja Turunen's and Simone Simmons' from Nightwish and Epica respectively.

Jennifer Hale has a great voice! She's probably one of the best things I'll remember about Mass Effect.

And finally a great female voice is Scarlett Johansons'. She's so sexy. Just check that movie called Her! So lovely!

Soooo many. XD

Tony Jay, Patrick Stewart, Kelsey Grammar, pretty much any of the badass baritones.

Oh, and whoever it was that did the voice of Joshua Graham in the Fallout: NV DLC. That gets a special shoutout because what was, for all intents and purposes, an average DLC experience became awesome to me just because of his voice.

On the female end I've always been a huge fan of Laura Bailey, As well as that one actress who portrayed Kokonoe in the English dub of Blazblue... can't remember her name, though.

Troy Baker's voice has a special place in my heart and my loins.
Same with Raphael Sbarge. And Thane's voice actor.
I like a lot of Bioware's voice actors. Sue me.

Music wise I could listen to Maynard James Keenan (Tool/A Perfect Circle) and Greg Puciato (Dillinger Escape Plan) all day erry day. Special mention to Howard Jones (ex Killswitch Engage). Man, that guy has a set of lungs on him!

I second Patrick Stewert, Ian Mackellen and Christopher Lee.
It'll be a goddamn sad day when we can no longer hear Saruman's deep booming bass.
Listen to his heavy metal album. It's worth it even if you don't like the music!

Also Brian Blessed.
I don't need to explain why. Search for the QI episode where he starts singing opera ;)

I'm gonna second this one. Mrs. Strong is pwetty kewl. She also voiced Juliet Starling :)

And then i'll just go for the obvious: Morgan Freeman. I could listen to that voice for hours. Uhhh and add Schwarzenegger. Yes, you read right! Be honest, the world would be a much duller place without Arnolds slightly accentuated one liners.

#1: Megumi Toyoguchi, or Haruka of Senran Kagura.
#2: Yukari Tamura, better known as Harime Nui of KLK.
#3: Ai Kayano, most recent as Shiro of No Game No Life, also Yomi of Senran Kagura.

This short list isn't set in stone, but off the top of my head they're my favourites.

I like Idris Elba recently, Keith David is always good. Morgan Freeman of course. Mel Blanc was amazingly awesome.
