Used to play Thousand Sons back in the day. When they had 2 wounds each and you could bail them out a speeding rhino then jump back in after combat.

I stopped playing after they changed the rules a few years back, dont know what theyre like now. I was the only one I ever saw using them as well.

no u! C'mon, what's yours?! Can't start a thread without telling us yours, and maybe a bit of back story. It adds to the reading pleasure.

Personally, I'm going to have to go with Tyranid, they're just so awesome. I was playing Dawn of War II a few days ago with a friend, I spawned 5 Carnifax and just ran upto the enemy base yelling "ALL UR BASE R BELONG TO ME!". I built Hive Nodes, Capillary Towers, and a damage aura hero around them, they kicked ass.

Also I kind of like the idea that something which is feared through out the universe, doesn't actually have any form of modern science...

Squats. Space dwarves in SPACE!
But do you mean the hairy biker space dwarves or the beer-soaked chainmail space dwarves.

In SPACE!

Anyway, they were all eaten by Tyranids, and that's pretty much the only piece of 40k lore that is not subject to revision.

Well My Primary army is Necrons so they'd probably be my favourites, but anything to do with Slaanesh is cool too, I have a Angels of Ecstasy army with a couple of Emperors children (Painted with the proper Purple and Gold colours as I hate the Black and Pink design)

Hairy biker space dwarves IN SPACE!

And yes, I'm aware that they were eaten by Tyranids. But hey, they were there!

I have had a few armies. Started out with Necrons, then I realised I hated them. Then I decided to play Orks, then I realised I hated them. Then I bought a box of Tyranids for some unknown reason. So I going to have another go with Space Marines, which I have always believed are massively overpowered (because they beat me).

Space Marines are the easymode army. It's not that they're "overpowered", they're all quite good at everything, and they're quite tough, so they're a very forgiving army to play as.

It's hard for things to go catastrophically wrong for a Space Marine army.

I've always had a fancy with Blood Angels, been fielding them for about 7 years now, but i resently started playing a Chaos marines force. I really like the diversity of Chaos, and also the sheer madness of playing them. Plus the models are great.

That and since they're costly in-game, they're easier on the wallet out-of-game.

In a campaign setting, Space Marines can be rather difficult, because of how costly they are in-game. The loss of one dude can put a damper on your campaign. But few people play campaign rules, and I'm not even sure if Games Workshop publishes them anymore.

If I had the time, money, and attention span to play, I would play as the Imperial Guard because they are ordinary men fighting the most horrific things the galaxy could possibly throw at them with flak-jackets, lasguns, and bayonets. Also, their tanks are fuck'n a!
