I was playing Fallout 3 and went to The Republic of Dave it was not a mission but I completed it the "smart" way....not going to say how but, I felt very clever afterward. This brings the topic when have you felt smart or clever after a video game moment.

Any time I use clever tactics to outsmart my enemies on multiplayer games. For instance, on DoW: Soulstorm, I make good use of the new flying vehicles and the Eldar ability to teleport across the battlefield. Simply creae a large base, teleport behind the enemy lines and unleash a two prong attack with the base on one side and flying vehicles across unpassable areas. Easy, works most of the time, and always makes me feel smug that no-one else figured it out until it was too late.

In all the old adventure games getting thru them at all made you feel pretty damn smart. This is before you had easy access to the internets to skip actually thinking.

For me it was getting stuck on portal, then working it out. Once I got stuck and awoke at 4am with the solution in my head, its just pure joy to solve a puzzle like that.

I know this doesn't really make me smart, but once, back a few years ago, I was playing Battlefield 2, as USMC commander on Kubra Dam 64. Round time was set to 60 minutes. IN less than 30, my team had won with over 100 tickets left, and I had an overall score of 203 points before the 2x victory bonus.

Opposing commander has less than 70 points.

I enjoy playing the original Warcraft games and using woodcutters to hack all the way across the map, so I can come out behind the enemy base. That was always a moment when I felt smart.

As for the Republic of Dave, I don't think I ended up completing that one to get the 'good' karma rating. I had managed to be completly good up to that point.

The quizzes in Persona 4.
From Japanese culture, to those forgotten reaches of English, and even logic!
I've applied my studies more with that game than all other games combined...
(If you count the three courses on Japan that I took.
...And I am not otaku.)

Hey, I did that. Goblin Shredders help so much with that...

Other than that, anytime I finish a puzzle in the Legend of Zelda. They're simple, yes. But I love it anyways.
