Actually, I found Mega man 9 harder than Mega man 2's hard mode. I actually beat Mega man 2's hard mode and 1.

Ah Megaman 2 is not that bad unless you play it on hard.

Personally I wish there were more games like this nowadays. I am fine with the odd easy game but there should be a couple of franchises like Ninja Gaiden and Meat Boy that strive to be hard.

Well, I'll admit, 9 might have been harder, but 2 was definately more dickish. For example, a boss that's only weak to one weapon and at full ammo I have just barely enough to kill him (I can't miss once or even break a wall I don't absolutely have to), and he has a pretty much undodgeable attack? Yeah, what an asshole. The final boss was far easier than him, in fact the final boss was probably the easiest by far of all. The difficulty was all over the place I guess.

I've been playing games since commodore times...but I didnt get my hands on battletoads untill last year....it might be that I've grown soft with all the pampering from the game industry but holy crap on a popsicle...you gotta have balls of steel and a patience from beyond the grave to deal with this monster of a game

I loved the frustration level of MM9. I would play in small bursts and therefore the game lasted me much longer than most games do now. I wish I knew where my gameboy was so I could finish MegaMan Zero 4. Never got around to it.

Contra(no cheat codes...no saves...MFers)
Ghosts and Goblins
Battletoads(one of the easier ones in my experience)
Splosion Man(I don't think any other game has made me want to throw a controller in my adult years)
Ninja Gaiden(NES)
Bart Vs. the Space Mutants(NES...shit was just hard)
Silver Surfer(one of the most difficult games I ever played....period. Some sick fucking monster created this a-hole of a game and I would enjoy punching them in the crotch, male or female, I don't care....they deserve it. NES game.)

Nah it'll put some hair on their damn chests and drop their voices an octave. I know the new Gaidens and stuff like that aren't as bad but we need a good Battletoad/Ghosts and Goblins/Contra once and awhile. At least we have thigns like I want to be that guy and VVVVVV.
