FFXIV Subcription- Will you pay £7.99 a month?

I was really hyped for FFXIV, then I saw online that users would have to pay to play the MMORPG. I can't really afford to pay a monthly subscription for a game I won't play until the weekend!

Paying for an MMORPG is nothing new.

Nothing new, but a lower price than most subscription fees. I don't care much about fees though. If I'm having fun, sure, why not?

Considering that the majority of MMO's have a subscription fee and that FFXI had a subscription fee, it would have been foolish to assume that FFXIV would not have a fee.

I don't mind subscription fees. People always complain about MMORPG's costing loads of money to play, when they're the best value for money. 40 pound for a game that lasts under a week is a rip off. 8 pound for a game that I can't even complete within a month is a fucking bargain. I have friends that argue I'm wasting my money, and yet they buy games weekly at retail price, and stop playing (or complete) them within the same week. I'd rather spend 96 pound a year on the same game than spend 10 times that on (mostly) over-hyped turds with little replay value.

As for FFXIV, it was pretty safe to assume you were gonna have to pay monthly. I'm not sure whether to buy it though, the Beta has some issues with it, but I can see the potential. I just hope they don't waste it later on in the game, because it could be fucking sweet.
