Me and a buddy of mine were having this discussion a few days ago, arguing whether Ganondorf (Ocarina of Time) could take the Archdemon (Dragon Age: Origins) in a fight.

And it got me thinking; if all the final bosses/main bad guys etc. had a giant fight, who would be the last man standing, and why?

So I put it to you, people of the Escapist forum, WHO WOULD WIN?

Jubileus, from Bayonetta. I can't think of any other final boss that required the main character to throw them into the Sun to kill them.

Barring that, I think Tabuu, from SSBB, deserves a mention. The previously mentioned Ganondorf had to team up with both Link AND Zelda to beat him (not to mention fellow final bosses Bowser and King Dedede). That's gotta say something.

The end boss of Chrono Trigger (Lavos?) was pretty epic. Now that I think about it, aren't most Final Fantasy end bosses like these ridiculous non-human juggernaut things that require 9999999999999999 damage to defeat, have multiple forms, and can endlessly spam devastating spells without so much as a cast animation?

Maybe this line of thought is not really in the spirit of the thread...

Yeah, Final Fantasy bosses are always pretty insane, same can be said for a lot of JRPG games too. Lost Odyssey is a good example, some of the boss fights in that were hard!

Mr. Rogers.

Seriously though, "Who would win in a fight" questions should be banned, But im going to throw my support behind Agrosax The Chaos from DMC2. An amorphousblob hellblob that contains every other previously defeated boss, all firing their shit out in everydirection.

The giant Terminator-looking thing at the end of Mass Effect 2. Get rid of its single giant shining fuck-me light weak point, and I think it'd be a fair contender.

Master Hand/Crazy Hand/Tabuu from Super Smash Brothers series. Each is like a demi-god, Tabuu being the most powerful of the bunch.

Zeus from God of War series. Granted, I only played maybe half of the third one, BUT I definitely remember God of War II, and if it weren't for you being a demi-god wielding a weapon of titan-killing power, he would've kicked your ass from Olympus to Babylon and back.

The Dream Devourer in Chrono Trigger DS. Essentially a souped-up Lavos (first stage), it's just about as hard as expected of a special final boss.

Dullahan from Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. Also a special final boss, and he's the toughest incarnation in the whole series.

Deathwing, Lich King and Kil'Jaeden from World of Warcraft. Sure, none of them are final FINAL bosses as there are many MUCH more powerful beings in Warcraft lore, and given enough time it's possible to overgear for them, but they're still all tough sons-of-bitches, no doubt about it. Oh yeah, also, Algalon. That is all.

Some of the shadows in the Persona series weren't excactly pushovers either.

The last boss in Heavenly Sword, because he takes sooo long to beat that everyone else would get bored and just let him win.
That or the last fella in DeadSpace. I haven't even played it but I know he's frickin' gigantamongous.

For the record, I think Ganondorf would lose... but Ganon would easily cut the Archdemon's head off.

But he'd still lose, because only Grey Wardens can kill Archdemons. Though there might be some thing with the Triforce...

... Anyway, if we're talking characters strictly in the video game category, probably something from Final Fantasy. Those things are...

WAIT! No! Sargeras!

Yet to be actually fully encountered in a game, this guy is literally one of the creators of the universe. When he comes back to Warcraft, it'll take an army of guys that would probably be able to take on a Final Fantasy boss alone.

anyone remember Yiazmat from FF XII with 9,999,999,999,999 of HP and attacks that hit... well EVERYTHING
yeah I don't think anything can stand up to that
...
...
...
well maybe a tornberry with the same amount of HP and DEF but that would just be overkill
