What would you pick as battle music for different scenes? I'll break it down into three categories, please follow them as you post. :3

Medieval/Fantasy: "Lai Lai Hei" by Ensiferum". Would fit best with a big LOTR-style battle, with the intro played during the dramatic preparations.

Modern/Future (Unrealistic): "Supernova Goes Pop" by Powerman 5000. Possibly without lyrics.

Slow/Depressing/Noir: "God's Gonna Cut You Down" by Johnny Cash. Imagine this playing in the background while a stereotypical film noir "reluctant hero" going after the bad guys. No sound effects, no talking, just this song and shots of him dealing out justice.

Go!

No Giving Up - Crossfade - Medieval

This is the kind of song I'd have an epic sword-fight with my arch enemy to, on a dark, stormy night, the rain soaking us through. This would definitely be the medieval one. It gets me pumped.

ULTRAnumb - Blue Stalhi - Futuristic

It's the kind of song I'd have a brutal brawl with, fists flying, blood...flying? I imagine this in a kind of near-future scenario, in a bar similar to the one in Omega (it is Omega, right?) on Mass Effect 2.

Silent Hill 2 - Betrayal - Noir

There's something about this song that makes me want to crawl into the darkest corner I can find and die. Whenever I hear it, I imagine down-trodden, poor districts of a sprawling industrial city, their only drive in life being materialism. The metallic clanging makes me think of a thought on someone's mind, catching, never being able to move, as if that one thought is absorbing them. I'd definitely have this for that kind of setting.

Yeah, yeah, really overused, it's still perfect though.

I don't care about context. The Man With the Machine Gun (Laguna's Battle Theme) from Final Fantasy VIII is the perfect music for a fight.

Imo Into Battle by Ensiferum would fit better. Someone made a LOTR style video of it already:

My favorite time period is the cavalier years...So naturally..

Adam and the Ants are my favourite band, too. So it's all good.

EDIT: If you couldn't tell, I often play Rogues and Rangers in games.

Medevil would probably be any of those orchestra numbers they have in movies like Kingdom of Heaven, or Robin Hood.

My modern day would be "Vox Populi" by 30 Seconds to Mars.

My losing or depressing win would be "Hurt" by Johnny Cash.

I realise My Immortal might be a bit too contrived since nearly everybody appears to of heard it, but it fits a heartbreak or sad moment just so well.
