Once upon a time, around the PS1 era and all its fighing games, A litle child (me) and some friends realy liked playing the Tekken series all the way up to Tekken Tag... But then...

I like to call it the "Street Fighter syndrome", A level of difficulty was once more or less the same through a game with not much diff through it but then... What is it with todays figthing games?! You chose one level of difficulty and BAM! it hits you in the face like a speeding train loaded with dynamite after some time!

Scenario: "Oh I will just go with normal now and go through Arcade mode in Street fighter 4 to get the hang of it." Oh yeah? well f**k me that worked well... it was like the game changed from 'Normal' to 'ULTRAMEGAHYPERAWSOME HARD' and I got floored like a stuffed animal when I got to the last boss, later I found out that like 1/100 the last boss can get easy as "stealing candy from kids".

I'm realy a fan of Tekken and have loved every game up to Tag and Dark Ressurection but now...
Tekken 6 has the same damn syndrome... And I hate it with all of my heart.

Is this how its going to be from now on?

EDIT: Ok Ill go for an easier explanation. Normal turns to Ultra Hard-like on the last encounters...

I don't understand what you're trying to say here. As in, at all.

And do you really want a too-easy game where you beat the final boss by pressing the same button six times in quick succession?

Oh, & Welcome to the Escapist.
Dunno if they called it a bug or so but the last boss just went easymode and was way to easy to beat.

And no I dont want a too-easy game, but I find the newer games to scale way to much, in Tekken 6 I play on hard so its still a bit of a challage all the way but then on the two last encounters, its like the game goes Ultra Hard, and on top of that, it seems like the frist round both in ST4 and T6 is like a "warm up" round on the AI side and then in the second round the AI goes all out.

I see what you're getting at there. There's a ridiculous gap between Easy and Medium (not to mention Medium and Hard) in pretty much any fighting game. Also, fighting game fans tend to be ludicrously hardcore. Fighting games are obviously made with them in mind. It's hard to make a game appeal to many different audiences and skill levels without alienating either.

You lost me there. Every fighting game's campaign I've played was a complete snore fest - not necessarily because it was easy, no, some characters and bosses were a pain in the ass - but because, uh, I really don't see a point. Fighting games are just like racing games - social games. You need to be with someone in the same room, preferably with drinks and things to stab each other with.
I totaly agree with you on that, but some games needs to be played through in single player for all kinds of reasons, unlockable characters etc.

Newsflash: You can understand what I'm saying.
Another newsflash: I've been here long enough to not be considered "new"
Another another newsflash: I have 1,500 posts, nearly double YOUR post count, so in a way, I've been here longer than you have.

Fair enough. I'm kinda just referring to all of the new members. I have noticed that most of them make posts that are barley readable. They usually "tlk like ths, n u cnt understnd watever thr syin."

Why call it Street Fighter Syndrome? Haven't you played Fate/Unlimited Codes the old Samurai Shodown games?

Um...no. No, not really. For all we know, he's read more than posted for two years because he prefers reading and only posts when he has something to say, while you may have gotten a larger post count by hanging out in Forum Games.

Not an accusation, just pointing it out.

Seth is the most recent example of SNK syndrome. where the last boss is rediculously cheap, and priority means absolutely nothing.

I don't mind a hard boss fight (it IS the boss fight after all...) but it's frustrating when you attempt to pull off what would have been a combo or a super, only to end up wrecked because the boss gets priority EVERY TIME.

I've posted in forum games about 5 times.

And I'm pretty sure I've passed the point where I'm considered "new". Actually, I think the only reason the other guy claimed I wasn't was because he was just trying to be a dick. I've been here for 6 or 7 months, and (almost) every one of my posts have a point.(I'm sure I've said something stupid here or there.)

Yeah.... not hardly, new kid. You just don't shut up. Some of us, much like Mr. Ed, will never speak unless we have something to say.

On the topic of the OP, I understand what you're getting at. There comes a point where a final boss crosses a line from "reasonable challenge" to "snapping the controller". I haven't really played much SF4 because it's not really my thing, but I've heard that the final boss is bullshit, and intentionally so. I don't really like it, and would rather it didn't become a trend in the fighting games that I enjoy, but it's established in Street Fighter, so what can you do?
