Came across 1up's article for PSP/VITA & what they're most looking forward to in 2012.

"Final Fantasy Type 0
Square Enix | Square Enix

Formerly known as Final Fantasy Agito XIII, Type 0 is easily the most ambitious PSP title ever published; the Japanese release came on two UMDs and featured insane loading times if you didn't install the game. No worries, though. We have it on good authority that Square Enix will be bringing the game to the U.S. as a Vita release, which should relieve some of the game's technical issues and work around the fact that the PSP market is moribund in the west. Even on PSP, it looks great, with fast-paced mechanics descended from Crisis Core and The 3rd Birthday but considerably deeper. Type 0 centers around cooperative play and RPG-derived action with a team of magic academy students out to turn the tide of a losing war with the use of spells, weapons, and summons."

So, a possibility - good authority, even - that it's coming to Vita?

Thoughts?
I hope for some added content.

Imagine this post as incredulity that people bought a vita.

Maybe since FFXIII is $20 now, I should get at some point.

Maybe play it at another.

I wouldn't be surprised if they made a Vita version of it. In fact, they probably should. The Vita was basically DOA in Japan and if the PSP sales in the US Vs. those in Japan are any indication of how it'll be received here, it's not looking good. But, what better way to sell an overpriced handheld that's missing, what I feel are, essential features and stuffed full of junk than to have a series that has more sweaty fanboys than most anyone else who will gladly shell out the money for it as a launch title.

Though, if they make it a VITA release only in the US, then they really are shooting themselves in the foot. The PSP may not be huge here, but it's sure as hell gonna have a bigger draw than the Vita.

Also, comparing it to Third Birthday? That's kinda insulting to it considering 3rd Birthday was not only a shitty game, but it was a slap in the face to the Parasite Eve fanbase.

And really 2 UMDs? Curious to see the box for it looks like.
