thanks you for embedding it and the info on how to do it.Mister K said:I did this for you, OP. Tip for the future: after youtube= copypaste everything after = and then put ] at the end.
OT: Yes, saw it in my subscription feed yesterday and had quite a positive reaction to it. I do hope TFS will make the whole series enjoyable. Oh, and please DO make fun of Sephiroths mommy issues.
It's a mako plant not a nuclear power plant, despite glowing green there isn't any radioactivity in there, unless lifeforce energy is suddenly radioactive now, which makes no sense.jademunky said:Ah the 90's, a time when the protagonists of a story can blow up a power plant, kill thousands of people and still be considered the "good guys".
I wonder if the remake will address the consequences of their actions at all "So uh Tifa, looks like the deathtoll has reached about 4,000. Of coarse that does not include the giant spike in cancer rates due to all those radioactive materials, or the PTSD related suicides of a large percentage of the first-responders.....Wanna go to the Gold Saucer and play that snowboarding game again?"
Well for all we know, Mako energy could cause cancer. Maybe uhhhh, the process of converting useful energy from the lifestream makes it more dangerous. If cartoons have taught me anything, its that everything that glows is radioactive.EternallyBored said:It's a mako plant not a nuclear power plant, despite glowing green there isn't any radioactivity in there, unless lifeforce energy is suddenly radioactive now, which makes no sense.
Not to mention, the game isn't exactly going to have time to explore those things considering that Shinra destroys a much larger portion of the city in an attempt to kill the main characters about an hour of gametime after the plant gets blown up. So casualties from the plant explosion or first responder problems won't mean much in the face of Shinra annihilating an entire section of the city. That's also the last real thing Cloud or any of the other characters do as a part of AVALANCHE, so focusing on it would be kind of a needless side plot, especially considering that Shinra's actions were generally more destructive and evil in pretty much every instance after the opening.
Materia glows too, and Shinra harvests mako with materia as a byproduct of the process. Shinra selling radioactive magic rocks to people does sound like something they would do.jademunky said:Well for all we know, Mako energy could cause cancer. And yep, I am aware of the time Shinra causes the top plate to crush an entire sector. Funny thing about that is that Reno, the guy who actually carries out the attack also gets away with the it and nobody ever calls him out on it later. Seriously, he plays the comic-relief-villain along with his bald-headed buddy for the rest of the story.
Personally I'd rather see them complete the series they started with before taking on a new series. Seems like the wait between DBZA episodes is becoming longer and longer as it is without a new series soaking up more production time.Mister K said:I do hope TFS will make the whole series enjoyable.
IIRC, the morality of blowing up the power plants actually comes up later on and at least some members of AVALANCHE express regret(though I the most I remember was an admission of "We could have blown them up at night to minimize bystander deaths").jademunky said:Ah the 90's, a time when the protagonists of a story can blow up a power plant, kill thousands of people and still be considered the "good guys".

Technically, her boyfriend did that. What the Saint's boss did was ruthless and evil because he went after his enemies families. Even worse, manipulated the boyfriend into accidentally killing her. The boss in SA2 was a freakin monster.Dalisclock said:IIRC, the morality of blowing up the power plants actually comes up later on and at least some members of AVALANCHE express regret(though I the most I remember was an admission of "We could have blown them up at night to minimize bystander deaths").jademunky said:Ah the 90's, a time when the protagonists of a story can blow up a power plant, kill thousands of people and still be considered the "good guys".

I'm not sure if you'd count it, but Saints Row 3 gave you the option of using a huge bomb stolen from the military to blow up a skyscraper in the middle of downtown steelport. If you do so, you get more "respect" and nobody ever calls you out on pulling a 9/11 on a major american city. Hell, the building is never mentioned again if you blow it up or not, which is wierd considering the military later invades the city and sets up martial law and instead of saying "The Saints blew up a building and killed thousands in the middle of this city", their commander uses a sob story about a girl who dragged your friend behind a truck until he was nearly dead who was "ruthlessly murdered by the saints"(omitting the bit about dragging someone behind a truck).
I thought Jessica ordered it, as opposed to everything else. If nothing else, she was complicit and I didn't feel particularly bad about the whole monster truck thing after that.Ryotknife said:Technically, her boyfriend did that.
