Good day my fellow escapists.

A few months ago i purchased Final Fantasy VII on the PSN, and after seeing countless Final Fantasy threads. I am reminded of a certain queston that was raised during my nostalgic trip to the past.

Now i wouldnt consider myself the biggest Final Fantasy fan out there but i certainly am a fan. So i have a fair few hours clocked on VII througout the years.
Which is why something annoyed me as i was playing the PSN version, I can almost swear that certain miniscule parts had changed, be it words, sentences, dialogue options. There was just that air of unfamilarity and it bugged me a lot, but alas google brought me no answers and i had forgotten about it til today.

So my escapists, what i want to know is, are there changes? be they as small as i think they are, or is it the same exact game i grew up with?

tl;dr?
I bought FFVII on PSN, certain parts and text seem different or changed, am i imagining it or not?

I didn't notice anything different, but then again: A) it's been ages since I played it last, and B) I'm not a big enough fan that I would remember every single detail.

I can't confirm anything, but I think the Greatest Hits versions of games fix lots of little errors in the game. They may have put the Greatest Hits version on PSN.

I believe they fixed a few of the translation bugs and a couple of other smaller things. Aside from that though, its all there.

It's about the same as the original. There are a few spelling mistakes, but it's the exact same. Though One-Winged Angel sounds better, I think.

I have played part of the not-greatest hits version and they only thing that I saw that changed was the occasional bad translation.

Actually, I'd once spoken to someone who had the original version and not Greatest Hits. Mine was Greatest Hits, so I suppose there would be no difference to me. He, however, remarked on a number of bugs and spelling errors that I did not have and was both surprised and gratified to see this.

It's very possible that they did a minor retranslation effort. Check for Barret's cursing and "This guy are sick!", although, annoyingly, Square has a tendency to leave in the worst examples from their earlier awful translation quality. Seriously, even I'M sick of "YOU SPOONY BARD!"
