I'm looking for a game that I have never played, or even seen. A friend of mine told me about it and he described it with such passion that I knew this was a good game to have affected him so.
He can't remember the name, but it was made with rpg maker around a decade ago. It mixed a sci-fi and fantasy setting presumably to make full use of all available sprites. It was a very long game with an amazing narrative.
The player starts in a futuristic city with a robot companion that often malfunctions, sputtering nonsense. A plot is uncovered to assassinate some corporate big shot, and the player tries to intervene. It becomes a race to find the guy before the assassin. After infiltrating the building, the player is too late to save the guy and is framed for the murder. That is just the beginning.
The player takes refuge in a community that disregards technology and uses magic. This is where the fantasy stuff comes in. Conflict ensues when you are discovered.
