Hey, I'm presently writing a paper for a university assignment regarding the Bugis Society's interpretation of gender versus the Australian interpretation, however I've been having trouble finding statistics from either region regarding specific information.
I am unable to find the statistics for how many Australians recognise themselves as Homosexual or Transgendered (They must be seperate stats for Transgendered and Homosexual). I am also incapable of finding statistics on how many people from the Bugis/South Sulawesi consider themselves to be either Homosexual or Calalai/Calabai/Bissu.
I need to compare the two to get a grasp on the groups acceptance within their cultures, their projected numbers (such as whether one group has more "transgendered" (it doesn't really work when comparing them, but it's the best word for it) individuals than another society) and how this may be affected by "nature vs. nurture".
If you've any ideas on where to find sources it would be greatly appreciated.
