Yeah, as stated above, just finished a decent shooter but had to slog through the most wretched piece of shit to ever be called a script.
I think I sicked in my mouth a bit during the scene before they boarded the space elevator. I've always tried to maintain that the story is superfluous in big AAA gameplay based games, especially shooters, but I'm starting to think I might just have to shun them if I have to put up with Battlefield Earth quality storytelling being shoved in my face every 10 minutes. And Rico never shut up during gameplay.
I'm not even going to try go over everything wrong with the plot, else I'll wind up overthinking it MovieBob style and delve into the ugly, downright sociopathic American ultranationalism fueling the thing. But wow, just look at that ending...
So, anyone got any ideas how we could actually get decent scripts into our AAAs?
