First Playthrough of Mass Effect 2

So I know I'm late in the game but I just picked up Mass Effect 2. In Mass Effect, I was a male soldier starting out renegade with select paragon choices and I courted Liara. Also, I played it so that I favored Kaiden over Ashley, blaming Ashley for as many things as possible. For ME2, I'm thinking I'll play the same guy except mostly paragon with some tendencies to fall back on renegade paths. I don't know who I will choose for my love interest yet and I would like for as many of my people to live in the end.

Essentially this post is asking, "What did you all do and why?"

First play through of the game I just did what I felt was natural, played right in the moment without thinking for metagaming.

Ended up mainly paragon, with a few renegade interrupts in certain places, stayed loyal to Liara.

I'd try and be fully renegade but I can't do it, especially when my decisions might have a detrimental effects on my squadmates eg. Garrus.
