First Truely Violent Game you ever played?

No, i am not talking about 'Super Mario or Sonic style Jumping on heads Violence'. I'm Talking about Brutal, Gratuitous Gears of war or Dead Space Violence.

For me it was Carmageddon 2 When i was 8. Good times, Even though it was a demo.

I would say that it would be Diablo for me. Not necessarily a ton of violence as you speak, but for the time the blood was quite prevalent.

I suppose the first game that really made me think "Wow, this is one bloody game" was Gears of war, I've been a gamer since the N64, but no other game struck me as being as violent as that one did when I first played it.
Edit: Wait, some of the death animations in Fallout 1&2 did strike me as particularly over the top, so yeah that was the first, I think.

The one that really gave me a goregasm was Shadow of Rome.
I'm sure there were violent games before, Resident Evil, Onimusha (See a pattern?) but SoR was just mental.

The Warriors on the original xbox. It was one hell of a grapic game.It was even paying much great attention to the detail of damage you gained as your health went down e.g. broken noses. black eyes etc (REMAKE REMAKE REMAKE...for the xbox 360 )
