First World Problem: I have a "fun account" that I use to keep me from going bonkers and bankrupting my family buying everything that comes out. Keeps me in check. But the fund is building and I'm thinking about next toys.

Were I smart and patient (if only) I'd let it ride till PS5/Xbox 2z or whatever comes out. Thinking Samsung Galaxy 10 with the ability to dock it on a TV and have a windows like experience. I'm skipping the Switch for now. Too much of its best are tweaks of games I already have on the Wii U and I use a Vita for mobile.

Is it too late in Gen 8 to get more stuff for PS4 (VR, 8 TB External HD)?

New Monitor for the PC? I have a 39" 1080P TV that I use for a monitor. R&R it? Your thoughts?

Jesus. Do you PC game from a couch? I would personally put some of that burnable cash into some nifty new PC hardware if any of it is lagging behind the times. Also would personally wait the VR shenanigans out until it?s looking more like Main St. than a back alley.

Gamestop had a refurb that came with Resident Evil 7 VR. Tempting but you're probably right. VR needs some more maturing.
I think Samsung's QLED 49" Ultra Wide 144 hz Freesync, $1K, look amazing but not sure I could get the most out of it with an RX 480. I am seeing the Vega 64 coming down to reasonable prices. I'm keeping that in mind. Until I do get a different monitor, a Ryzen 1700 and 480 combo play everything well enough.

I do have a family room PC. A 10 yr old OG I7 930 I added an RX 550 2 GB Vram and 256 Samsung SSD that plays about as well, well, better than PS3 not as good as PS4 on a 55" LED Vizio. Fun to recline and browse web as well as play games.

I hear Switch 2 may be coming out. That may be a game changer for me.

Your next toy?

Is Switch 2 next gen? Or more like PS4 Pro to the OG?

But yeah, that's kinda why I haven't at a minimum gotten a large external hard drive for the PS4. With 5 coming out, better to save for it.

The Switch's only been out for 2 years and is still selling well, so it seems too soon for an actual successor. A revised model seems much more likely. Maybe something like a smaller, cheaper, portable only version, or perhaps one with improved battery life, screen size and maybe better docked performance.

My next toy if it could even be called that might be doubling up my current RAM to 32GB. My board supports 64 but I?d rather not fill all slots if I don?t have to. Currently not into any heavy video editing or rendering so 32 should more than suffice.

Guess I'll have to wait and see what it looks like. I hope they improve their online and, don't let heat warp my console!

That would be fun. My 16 doing fine so far. I don't know I've used mine yet as it is. Games of the future may have different requirements.

Two statements. Both wrong.

Next Gen arrives after the current one. Current one will not 'always' be 'now'

I am soooo sorry. I apologize. I am apparently insane and bought something. I ask that you pray for me that my wife does not slaughter me for wasting money.

I just got HMD Odyssey+ - Windows Mixed Reality Headset. Normally $500. I got for $300 from Samsung.com directly. Sadly, going to take a month to ship.

I am an idiot. But I'm having fun. Till the wife kills me. Life is short. Game more.
