Has any one else noticed theres a shocking lack of football/soccer management games out for any console in fact i cant find one!

ive had to resort to playing fifa 09's management mode which is to say the least abit easy as you can play the match so stevenage's giant killing of man u was'nt so much of a surprise to me

also its still hurts that LMA manager is no more as codemaster has pulled the plug on the series which is a shame as i loved that game more than my family

so i just wanted other "managers" thoughts

I guess its because those games were and have always been...dreadful, to be honest.

When fifa released there form of managment as did Pro evolution the public jumped to them in an instant, its no real loss anyway i have a deep hatred of soccer games as of late.

There has only ever been one proper football management game, Championship Manager/Football Manager (same game, changed name due to licensing issues, latter Championship Manager games are rubbish). Simple fact is its far too complex for your average console gamer and it's not massively demanding on a PC so there's been little point porting it.

Having said that I think there were a few console versions, but these were stripped down rubbish.

To be honest, why would you buy a game to manage a team when you could buy a game that lets you play instead?

LMA manager was good for the PS1/PS2 however they are notoriously annoying, which is why most of the games come out for PC, Football Manager by saga is my personal favourite, I get the new one each each year, incredibly addictive, awesome games.

Well, maybe they just sell really poorly?

I prefer actual FIFA games anyways, at least the older ones, because they were about fun before around '07 or '06, now it's about being realistic and not fun..
I want more realism. My whole life is one big fantasy, so some realism in gaming now and then would be appreciated! Except Final Fantasy, I'm working on achieving that in real life....

It's because like RTS games they have a natural home on the PC. I couldn't imagine playing Football Manager on anything other than the PC. Thats how it works and what they are comfortable with.
Totally agree with this. These games are simulations, and I have fond memories of taking small teams to great glory.

I did notice that Football Manager is available on the PSP, and wondered quite how well that would work without a mouse.
