I need a little help, and this is sometihng only other WoW players would know about.

My story goes back about 2 months when my computer crshed, and my hard drive was wiped clean. Now I've got my computer fixed and I tried to re-install WoW.For some reason the disk isn't working (and yes, I've cleaned it, and I even used disk fixer to take care of the scratches).

But then it occurs to me thatsince my account is wrath of the lich king, so maybe thats the only one I need to install. So I go get the box and open the disc slip and...it's not there. I haveno idea why, I always leave it in the box, and keep up withmy discs. I've looked all over for it and can't find it.

SO I'm wondering, can I install it back onto my computer from the information I have on battlenet.com. I have the 26-digitcode still on the empty disc-cover. So, with that in mind, can I install WoW with just that info? Or do I need the discs? And if so, do I just need the one?

Thank you for any advice in advance.

You can install Wrath with a direct download from the Blizzard website. It's going to take a while though.

Do you have a battlenet account? If so you can just download it from that. If you dont just go and make one. Discs are overrated man!

yeah just go on to the Blizzard wow website and download it straight from the internet. Its gonna take a long time but if you have all the codes for the expansions then there shouldn't be any problem.

Yes, you can. If you have your cd keys linked to your battle.net account you can download the game right off battle.net. Also, you need to install all 3 expansions. Just wrath doesn't cut it.

There is a download client on the actual WoW site. That'll do all the work for you. It's what I did when my WotLK disk didn't work.

if you've used your code for an account before you can only use that account to play, you should still be able to get the client downloader without an active account though.

I've got my battle net account, and it's still good. So whereon thesite can I re-download the games to this computer?
I've tried using the code, but it said it was already used.

go to the WoW website, click manage account and log in and there should be an option to download the pc client on the page it sends you to.

Ok, so I'vespent the last 2 days trying t get this to work but it still doesn't. I've downloaded all of them but it still hasn't updated the desktop icon to say burning crusade or lich king, or whatever. And NOW when I go into the login screen, the buttons are invisible!

I've looked for answers on the support pages but nothing fixes it. Do you know what could fix that?

This is so frutrating... I've run into problem after problem...and it's taken me all fucking weekend and it still doesn't work!

Well the desktop icon isn't going to change, it's always going to be the same World of Warcraft icon regardless of what expansion you're using. Also the download on the website will give you a "InstallWoW.exe" that you then run to download and install the actual wow client.

When you say the login screen doesn't have the buttons do you mean the one on the WoW website ? If those are invisible you may need to update flash. Either that or your browser and the site may not be agreeing at the time.

IF you have an account you don't even need the CD key to install, it's only needed to create your account, it's just better to download it from the Blizzard website, as many others have said

Yeah blizzard should let you download the whole thing from their site. takes a while though.
When reinstalling WoW onto my system i accidentally downloaded burning crusade and WOTLK when i was patching it.

No it's the actual game login. After some blind luck I finally felt my way through and got into the actual game...Where I didn't have a HUD either. I'm gonna have to replace the graphics card.

But when I mention the icon, I'm talking about the name. When I got the first expansion (when it came out) and installed it, it updated the icon to say burning crusade when I moused over it. Anyways, it seems to be working, besides...well...that other thing.

There seems to be something with the recent patch, my friend had trouble with his graphics messing up too. I would say try turning off addons if you have them on, update your video drivers, and update directx. If that doesn't work you may need to try reinstalling once again.

I actually already updated the directx thing. And I'm in no rush to go through the installation process again. I've set all of the video settings to default already, but all those can do when they're set too high is make your game choppy.

It can never be simple...
