I didn't like anyone from my school, so I feel the same as the OP. But then, my school was insanely violent and stupid. Anyway on the very rare occasions when someone recognises me from school (doesn't happen often now because I'm 35) I just give polite one-word answers until they either get the hint or I'm able to extract myself from the situation by going to the toilet or something.

i agree! especially when it was the school bully, or someone who used to enjoy making fun of you at school. when those people come up to you and start asking how you are etc i annoys the hell out of me. Normally it is because they want to try and show they arent like that anymore (from my experience at least). They want to shed the guilt feel better about themselves. Normally i tell them i dont give a crap and walk off. Though occasionally you will get some like that whos first words out of thier mouths are 'hey dude. i'm really sorry for the way i was to at school.' Those people, them i'll talk to. It shows they accept what they did was wrong and they really do want to make a difference. The other ones that couldnt give you the time of day, nah, now i dont have time for them. Lifes too short to waste on people like that.

I got on with everyone at my school, pretty much because I developed quickly and people don't tend to pick on the tallest, beardiest person in the class. But no, I fucking hated most of those people. I wouldn't hesitate to tell them to jog on.

Yeah, it sucks.

Try tolerating it when you go to a community college.
In your hometown.
With people who went to your highschool.

Which you hated.

(The people, not the school, though I hated both, but I digress.)

Anyway, not fun.

yeah for the most part i don't talk to the people who were dicks to me in high school. i'll mention that they were dicks to me and that i really don't feel like talking to them, unless they are around their kids and then i'll at least be civil about it and excuse myself

How did you get out of school with English like that?

If I wouldn't piss on you to put out a fire while at school, I'm certainly not voiding by bladder to save your life now that the hellish ordeal is just a distant nightmare.

Looks like you had a run-in with the kid who beat you in the spelling bee.

I really couldn't stand most people who I went to high school with. Something about the high number of pregnant kids and gangsters at my school made me not want to talk to any of them. There were only a few that I ever had problems with, and I'm not sure how I'd react if I met them now. Probably nod a few times, say "uh-huh" repeatedly, and get on with my day.

its good to see most of the people know the feeling at the very least and its interesting to see all your responses on how you deal with it...

Fuck everyone I went to school with, the entire town should be a smoking, glass-filled crater. Simple as that. They didn't like me then, why the hell should I forget it now?

I think we've all matured beyond high school. Even if I didn't like them much, I'm probably friends with them on Facebook and will happily talk to them about what they're studying at uni or how their life is. I don't hold grudges against people, I think it's interesting what they've gone on to do with their lives, even if I still don't like them. It's no reason not to be civil and polite at least.

Surely you didn't go through school without even pretending to end sentances.. Seriously, it makes things about a million times easier to read when paragraphs are broken up into sentances. I don't like the be the grammar nazi, but that was atrocious.

OT: Meh, I was the kind of guy that they either got along with and woudln't be out of place talking/drinking with, or they were the kind that had no misunderstanding about how much I hated them (in which case they'd obviously avoid me, I am not known for tolerating people I dislike).

Would it kill you to be a bit more punctual ? =/

But yes, it is rather annoying when someone you barely know thinks you're their best friend.

How about I teach you some stuff right here!

Lesson 1. The Enter Key
Examine your keyboard carefully. See the big one to the right that says 'Enter'? Try pressing it once in a while.
Lesson 2. Capital Letters
Examine your keyboard once again. Can you see the 'Shift' key? Whats that? There are two? Maybe you would benefit from holding one to magically produce capital letters at the start of your sentences? Everyone else certainly would.
Lesson 3. Full Stops
Where do you use these 'capital letters' you ask? They would go to good use after full stops, at the start of new sentences.

That concludes our lesson for the day.
Next week, we'll learn to write things that people actually care about.
