For the love of Bob

First off, sorry if this topic has already been covered I did have a look, and couldn?t find an existing thread that was quite the same.

I have recently noticed that I have rather an alarming obsession with movie bob. I wait with baited breath for his weekly shows, and find myself flushing like a school girl at every reference I can relate to, or part of nerd culture I have in common with him.
Although I realise it?s a little bit sad to get so excited over somebody you have never met, I was wondering, I am really the only person suffering from bob fever? How many other people feel the same?
I should probably mention at this point that I am female, although I do invite any gentlemen of a particular persuasion to voice their love for bob with the same enthusiasm, if you feel so inclined.

And if it does turn out their IS a legion of love forlorn bob addicts, I suggest we unite and build some kind of evil love dudgeon to keep him in. Still need to work out the details on that one though.

(This is in no way trying to incite kidnapping)

While I used to think of his animations as sort of a more crude Yahtzee, just about films rather than games (for which I must apologise), I now look forward to his fair judgment on recent films, and other geek paraphinalia. I wouldn't call myself an addict, as I very rarely read his column, and as I live in the UK, he talks about films I haven't even heard of yet. I am also not a massive film-goer.
Regardless, I enjoy his videos and sense of humour.

This is the exact reason why I avoid becoming famous.

Bob knows his stuff, I may disagree (vehemently at times, but hey) but overall he's on the right track.

Don't you think it's a tiny bit creepy to use the word "love", "fever" and "kidnapping" in a post though?

He made a Haruhi reference in one of his Big Picture videos... That was all i needed to hear to confirm his awesomeness...

Not really a fan of him since I find my opinion of movies, more often than not, to be the opposite of his. Also wile I did like him at one point, the whole 3 or so weeks with his Scott Pilgrim rampage couple with the whole racism/multiculturalism nonsense in Halo just turned me off completely.

Because she's a girl that makes it okay.
Clearly.

Yeah, this is about the same as what I had to say. I don't really agree with Bob all that much, but he has an idea of what he's talking about.
So I guess props for that much at least.

I watch most of his new Escapist stuff straight away, but it isn't due to any sort of devotion on my part. With his videos I find that I either spit in disgust every second word or nod silently with my approval. I find that Escape to the Movies is usually good while The Big Picture is usually crap, but often these can switch around. For much of the past few months I've been hating on him, but he's starting to come back around to my good side. It is an interesting relationship.

As for The GameOverthinker, I hate that shit. Ever since 'Worst Person' he raped the shark and has gone downhill, the AntiThinker being the final, lazy nail in the series' coffin for me. He said in a Podcast that he'll keep the AntiThinker around for longer the more people hate against it, which is not only a really antagonistic and dicky thing to do to your fanbase (Imagine if Nintendo released a new Wii Music every week in spite of their fans) but a really great way to encourage people like me to complain, not bother watching the episodes and piss of the fans that are trying to sit through something that they don't like.

I ten to pretend that Escapist Bob and Screw Attack Bob are two different people.

Well, all it took was for him to compare Yankee fans to twi-hards and Bob's amazing-ness was absolute for me

My attitude as well. He's made some completely asinine or ignorant comments before, but generally he's okay, and his shows are often interesting, so I usually still check 'em out.
His shows on the Escapist that is. On screw attack...

I like to think this too. His bashing of first person shooters was also maddening. He couldn't just try and imagine that maybe taste in genre is subjective, he needed to say "Oh no, you're wrong for liking shooters, and are contributing to the downfall of modern videogames." and then thinks by saying "Oh hey that's just my opinion" that he can cover his ass.

I thought overthinker started okay, but it's been getting worse and worse, and now I can't stand it in the slightest. The anti-thinker: The less said about that abomination, the better.

I like Bob a fair bit, and the Game Overthinker is pretty damn good(Anti-Thinker's more of a failed experiment, but people are still dicks about it.)
