I am an American. I fucking love Rammstein. I actually went to go see them in Vegas for their last U.S. show.

LOL Ninja'd. Same song, too.

EDIT: Changed the song so I can be different.

The Pillows are a great band from Japan, introduced to me via Fooly Cooly.

I have to agree with the guys above, Rammstein is fantastic.
Lordi is quite good too if you're looking for something different. They're Finnish but I think a lot of their songs are sung in English.

Yeah, same here except at Wembley Arena in London. One of the best german bands in the world I would say, only matched I would say by OOMPH! musically, but will admit Rammstein are better live.

Technically OOMPH! are a little older then Rammstein, but both just as good

Yeah, absolutely; the genius of Rammstein is that they know exactly how the German language sounds to English-speaking ears - harsh, guttural, aggressive, possibly with unfortunate lingering cultural aspects - and they utilise that. The choruses tend to be simple barked alliterative, sometimes quasi-military things ("Bang Bang! Feuer Frei", "Du Hast Mich Gefragt", "Mann Gegen Mann") so we can all sing along, and they take the best bits of Euro-epicness with their orchestration and combine it with a nice Anglo-American riff mentality.

Oh, also, check out Kvelertak - Norwegian crazy metal-ish stuff, but awesome.

Rammstain rocks. I love how daring they are. Need I mention their song Pussy?
By the way, have you seen the Mein Teil live video? If not, check this out.
Rammstein got some insane live concerts.

Apparently this has turned into a Rammstein thread!

I just realized that this is exactly how the stage was set up in Vegas.

Rammstein are a good band, but i can think of other good German metal bands too that are less well known. For instance, Reiter:

What i would point out however is that most "foreign" bands speak English. Within Temptation, Delain, Blind Guardian, Sabaton, Edguy and Lacuna Coil for instance all sing in English. Really, the fact that they are technically foreign to the OP is pretty irrelevant. If the OP's American, then bands like the Beatles and Iron Maiden are foreign. Therefore, i think it would be more accurate to ask for bands which sing in a non-English language.

And i can provide that:

How about an extinct European language?

Hahaha :p
Does it make me stupid that it took me about 10 seconds to realise that Muse could actually be foreign for some people?

Edit for clarity: I am a British one :)

I've started to look into some Italian music, mostly to keep up with my Italian, but some of the stuff I found I ended up liking quite a bit ^^

In particular this guy called Ligabue [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abhU0km24WM], it's probably not in the taste of people on this forum, but I'm liking it :D
