Both Sony and MicroSoft seem to be pushing these motion sensor gimmicks to keep their systems relevant but it's about time we saw the next gen on the horizion right?

Well, no, not really. Both Sony and Microsoft are planning on another five years on the current gen life-cycle, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They're obviously pushing their motion controls now, but I have a feeling that will die off in the next couple of years.beholdmycape said:
I like the idea of holding off another generation because it gives plenty of time for some real quality games to come out for the systems. As developers perfect their craft on the PS3 and 360, I think we'll start to see some true gems like we did at the end of the PS2's life cycle.
no next gen, we're fine here. i dont want to have to buy another fucking console to buy games thats going to turn out to be crap (seriously, i have been very disappointed recently. skyrim should deal with that)

These ARE the new generation of consoles. Like anyone's going to buy a new console now. I think Extra Credits covered this, but the ROI on a new gen of consoles right now is going to stink. Treat the kinect and Move upgrade like a new console gen, because that's what Microsoft and Sony are doing.
