Once again from the bowels of the interverse, I call to you, denizens of the Escapist.

With a Halloween-themed slew of topics potentially round the alley corner, I have a challenge for you. The scenario?

The creators of your favorite videogame franchise have given you, YOU, the opportunity to input elements directly into their next iteration.

The catch?

All elements you include MUST to be taken from previous iterations of that franchise, and only one aspect may be used per previous game. You may draw on as many or few as you desire, but every element you include shall be put forward into the smelting pot of this new franchise creation.

It falls to you to decide what you shall invest in this creature.

As a start, I shall kick things off with an obvious example: the Legend of Zelda.

Into this smelting pot, I would place-

The cel-shading from Wind Waker

The day and night timer from Majora's Mask

The spirit of the Hero (sword move tuition) from Twilight Princess

The kinstones from Minish Cap

The ocarina from Ocarina of Time

The wall/2D merging mechanic from A Link Between Worlds

The animal companions from Oracle of Ages/Seasons

Happy Frankensteining...

I think I follow. This is a little tricky because there aren't that many long-running franchises I'm a fan of, but let's have a go...

My "Frankenstein" Halo game would have:

- Halo:CE's focus on exploration and lack of airwalling/killzoning
- Halo 2's dual wielding
- Halo 3's enemy set
- ODST's FireFight mode
- Halo Reach's quality of worldbuilding and storytelling
- Halo 4's multiplayer

- The giant world map and exploration from Guild Wars: Prophecies;
- The beautiful Asian-inspired theme from Guild Wars: Factions;
- The actually well-designed missions from Guild Wars: Nightfall;
- The gameplay and combat from Guild Wars 2;
- The cutscenes from another game franchise entirely.

Final Fantasy. While it has perhaps the most broken fanbase I've ever seen up close, there have been certain points that most can agree to liking. Besides this is my 'Final Frankenstein'.

-The graphics and painting backgrounds of FFVI, both made as beautiful as possible with all the money that you saved by making it 2D sprites.
-The ATB of FFIV but have the action bars visible like in the following games. Also include an ability with one class that allows you to see the enemy's ATB.
-The detailed class system and tough ability-dependent bosses of FFV.
-The tool system and fixed encounters of FF: Mystic Quest, only combined with the aforementioned class system so that every class has an ability to be used out of battle, for example allowing a party with a Dragoon/Lancer in it to jump 1 space over pits like the main character can in MQ, and another class who can use bombs MQ style.
-Combine the aforementioned fixed encounters with the NPC 'wandering' AI used by nearly all of them like oh say... FFI. Sounds easy to dodge encounters? Not in tight spaces like dungeons, but if you were patient you could sneak past almost every battle.
-The side minigames of FFIX, including some kind of card game (preferably closer to FFVIII's Triple Triad than Tetra Master).
-The vast overworld and speedy airship of FFVII.
-The equipment customization of FFX, the ingredients required giving more incentive to play the minigames directly above.
-A story close in structure, setting and theme to whatever FF that you consider to have the best overall plot. FFT for me.

For the next Frankenstein Pokemon game after Alpha Sapphire and Omega Red-

Being able to visit another region after becoming the Pokemon Champion from Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver (yes I choose this feature over your lead Pokemon follow you).

Custom avatar and clothing from Pokemon X and Y (I would of said the 3g graphic but I'm pretty sure that is a pernament feature now for future Pokemon games).

New Pokemons only in the first run from Pokemon Black and White.

Sonic the Frankenhog?

That sounds terrifying.

I think I can do this.

[li]Dual gameplay styles from Sonic Generations - "Modern" and "Classic"[/li]
[li]Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow playable from Sonic Adventure 2 (but in the same style as Generations)[/li]
[li]Level variety from Sonic Unleashed[/li]
[li]Level design/branching paths from Sonic Colors/Sonic 3 & Knuckles[/li]
[li]Music from Sonic the Hedgehog/Sonic 2/Sonic CD (US and EU)[/li]
[li]Bugs from Sonic '06[/li]

Maybe yeah, maybe no?
