I bought a used copy of Mortal Kombat on May 7th from Gamestop, and then a day later I discovered I needed a "Kombat Kode" to activate online multiplayer. Since it apparently wasn't included on anywhere on the manual, I just played single-player... until a week ago, when I looked at the receipt and found my Kombat Kode.
This confuses me. Isn't the point of having these multiplayer codes to make people buy new copies? Is this something Gamestop has started doing? Anyone have similar stories? Just what is going on?
