Free Xbox Live!

Okay, so about a week ago i got an e-mail saying my live subscription has run out and i could no longer play online games as you would expect, however yesterday i accedently went into the online part of a game and it let me play, so currently im using the xbox live service for free. It even says on the dashboard that my member type is Xbox live free.
So has this happened to anyone else/any expectations.

I think it's a xbox live "free weekend" for silver members comrade..

I remember reading somewhere that there was problems implementing it in the UK..

I think it's just a coincidence that they're running a Free Gold Weekend, this weekend.

Come Monday and you won't be able to play multiplayer.

Also, X-Box Live Free is the new name for X-Box Live Silver, so when it says your member type is X-Box Live Free, it means you're on the standard subscription, not that you can play multiplayer without paying.

The fact that you can play multiplayer without paying is due to the promotion they're running thus weekend, not your member type.

chears, had no idea about it XD, didn't think microsoft had it in them to have free weekends.

Oh, don't think it's out of generosity. If they let people play online for a few days, then people will get addicted and thus pay for the service.
