Ok, so I found another freebie, but this one is going to need some explaining how to get it. First things first though, today, for you:

[HEADING=2]Endless Space Collection [https://www.games2gether.com/][/HEADING]

Endless Space Collection will be free at Games2Gether until, well, I don't know how long. Anyway, on to explaining how to get it.

First off, click the link above and create a Games2Gether account. Then you need to link your Steam account (which may require you a login of its own). Once you've done that, click on the gift box icon in the top right to go to the rewards page. Click on the "Redeem your Reward" button for Endless Space Collection. The game should get added directly to your Steam library, yours to keep forever. If it doesn't, makes sure the page says you Steam account is linked.

Just to dispel any worries, Games2Gether is the community hub for Amplitude Studios [https://www.amplitude-studios.com/], the dev behind the Endless games. This is an official giveaway by them and completely legit.

If you want you can unlink your Steam account here [https://account.games2gether.com/Account]. The game will stay in your Steam library regardless.

Have a look if interested and enjoy.

Endless space (one and two) does a few interesting things with the space 4x formula, but it also has some pretty serious flaws. The game has crazy number inflation, where a late game system produce thousands time more than an early game system. This is manly caused by the non linear tech tree, if you specialize and grab multiple building that boost a certain aspect of the system it generally grow to crazy number. Problem is most resource self reinforce and let you get more of the other resource easily (if I produce lots of food my population increase quickly, which means they can produce lots of science quickly which let me buy science building for even crazier boost). By itself that's not too big a problem, but this means that you snowball even harder than most 4x, combine with the poor ai (a staple of 4x game) and it make for some not very interesting single player game, where you can find yourself easily outproducing the ai on every front and leaving it behind.

The game also let you purchase special resource with gold (dust in game), like I said before the number inflation are crazy. This mean you quickly end up in a situation where you can just buy every special resource whenever you want, so they lose there "special" aspect pretty quick.
