Shenmue III will be free at Epic Games Store until December 17th at 5PM (your local time). As always, you can get the game through the link above, or straight from the Epic Games launcher. Either way, the game will be added directly to your Epic Games library. Keep in mind having 2FA active on your account is mandatory to nab giveaways on the Epic Games Store.

Play as Ryo Hazuki, an 18-year-old Japanese martial artist hellbent on avenging his father’s death. In this third installment of the epic Shenmue series, Ryo seeks to solve the mystery behind the Phoenix Mirror, an artifact sought after by his father’s killer. His journey takes him to an immersive representation of rural China, brimming with activity and surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Ryo’s adventure leads him to towns and mountain villages where he can further his training, try his hand at gambling, play arcade games, and work part-time jobs while investigating those who know truth behind the Phoenix Mirror.

Epic put a bunch of its Fortnite money into a bag and threw it at Yu Suzuki. As for why, they probably wanted a name big enough to draw attention to start their sale off with, but not so big that it would cost too much Fortnite money.

For free, people are still getting ripped off. Literally play something else gamers! Anything else! Play Yakuza or Judgement. Anything is better than those. Hell, play something on a turbo play something on a T-16 Mini. You'll actually be getting something on your money's worth.
