Friends and lovers via the Escapist

I have a question to you fellow Escapees.

You have most likely heard or read the stories about how two persons have met in a game and started chatting and eventually even gotten married. There are a few examples of this. And also how whole guilds have gathered IRL somewhere to have a good time and get new friends.

Has this happened via the Escapist? We just had the Escapist Expo so I bet you met many people you've only chatted with there and finally met them face to face.

Are there in the Escapist history people who have become really good friends (as in seeing each other often IRL) or even gotten married, and the first step was meeting that person on these forums?

Extra discussion, have you ever planned to go see another Escapee IRL and learn to know them?

At the Expo, I did see users like [user]Fappy[/user],[user]Fiz_The_Toaster[/user],[user]Kapol[/user] and [user]CheckD3[/user]. It was like staring into the faces of gods pretty awesome to meet other forum users!

I've also done some chats with people of the Injustice League and did some gameplay with others

I'm not so sure about "meeting love" here on the site, but I know it's been done before, so who knows?

If I remember rightly, there was at least one couple who met and then wed (or planned to be wed) after being introduced to one another on this site.

And there are a lot of people who are close friends. Like ... those people. They know who they are. Maybe.

I've got some of them. Haven't yet met them, but I will. Someday.

Or then just meeting someone when going abroad would be nice, I just have no idea who'd like to meet me

That's pretty cool, I guess chances of that happening are pretty small but if it can happen in WoW why not here

I haven't met anybody here IRL, though I think it'd be nice to do so someday. :3 Tried to start a relationship with someone on this site, but that didn't work out unfortunately. >.> I do know of at least one couple who've met via this site and have met each other IRL, so I wish them the best of luck, but other than that I'm not sure how frequent of an occurrence this sort of thing is.

I wouldn't say I've met many "friends" on this site. Undoubtedly a few people on xbox live, especially from the halo reach sessions I managed to turn up for. I certainly haven't met anyone from here in real life. Not that I know of anyway...I'm not really important enough around here to warrant attention.

Well there are a few people I'm pretty chatty with but I've yet to meet anyone for realsies.

I did go to a big group meet up in London for fans of Spaced. Those guys are awesome.

I remember that thread, it was easily one of the best threads of the year (I think it was this year anyway, could have been late last year).

I haven't really made any friends on here due to my fear of doing things like PMing people out of no where. I would like to meet the folks from R and P, I think it would be fun to met the people behind the posts.

It was a pretty awesome time, and it's right for you to gaze at me in awe it was great meeting up with people from this site.

OT: I'd like to think I've made some great friends with the Brovengers, and with some people around the forums.
