Huh I never thought I see that mouth part again:

I'll be honest I thought at least the faces of the suits were gonna look so radically different compared to what was once established, this looks like Power Rangers in my eyes.

I think its the fact they all look very colorful.

Now I am at least intreagued to see how the Robot is gonna look.

Eh, looks okay. Pretty much the only way you're making the old suits work for a modern audience. Why does the Power Rangers need introduction to a new audience is beyond me, though.

Well if Transformers made money, this can make money.

Also I Wouldn't count this movie out yet, Power Rangers (And it's source material Super Sentai) has had really good and well written seasons. I'm sure if they try hard enough they can either make this a goofy fun film or decent drama but I guess we have to wait and see.

I guess that they don't look bad, but I liked the old spandex suits better, because they conveyed a sense of nimbleness whereas these suits look rather stiff and hard to move in.

I actually prefer the new suits, at least under the assumption that the movie is taking itself semi-seriously. The spandex suits are easy to move in, but flimsy looking - sparks come off them each time they're struck, as if to convey the amount of 'power' being thrown around (for defence and attack), but, well, yeah.

And yes, I'm cautiously optimistic. Power Rangers has given us some genuinely good seasons (Dino Thunder, SPD, RPM), while MMPR, as nostalgic as it is, gets by nowadays on nostalgia and corniness alone.

Because their target audience are young kids, and those kids age out of watching Power Rangers, so they have to introduce them to new people so they can keep making money. This is surprising to you? xD
