Hello fellow Escapist.
Just wondering what are the most unusual or funniest or worse glitches you have ever experience or seen in a video game?

You know like in Skyrim when you kill a giant and collect the bounty money but you can't cause the quest menu wont say that you should collect it even though you killed the damn giant? Just one in a few.

These easily top everything and anything I've ever seen, and are therefore the best contribution I can make.

Oh man, I remember my friend taking L.A. Noire so off the rails, but three things in particular come to mind, form least to most favorite:

He drove a car in between a telephone pole and a house or something and I don't know how this happened, the geometry didn't work out or something but the car suddenly jumped thirty feet straight up.

For those of you that haven't played L.A. Noire, you have a partner that follows you around (this'll be relevant for the next story too) and as my buddy got into the car and the partner reached for it, my friend starts driving and for some reason that makes the partner just freeze. So my buddy hits him. Well, it unfroze him, but then my friend hit him again.
Anyway, last story:

I finally decide to take the controls back and do the driving myself. But I decide to drive recklessly and I need a new car. Now here's the thing, the partners in the game get into the vehicle that you do, but for some reason, the partner AI decided that it was done with us and just steps into the passenger side of a civilian vehicle. It was still being driven too, our partner just decided to be friends with this random NPC.

Oh man, these had us rolling.

I was playing LA Noire.

We had to investigate a car crash that happened right across the street from the police station.

So, I'm looking forward and walking for a little bit and I hear what definitely sounded like someone bumping into someone else, then a silenced pistol shot.

So I turn around and see a dead woman lying right next to my partner at the time, who was standing there acting like nothing happened.

I waited for a while to see if she just tripped, but she lied there for like 3-5 minutes.

I still have no clue how in the world that could have happened.

There was a dragon once in Skyrim that I killed. I carved out his bones, stole some rubies, and waited patiently for his soul. I never got it. "Whatever," I thought, "I have plenty of souls, so I guess I'll just be on my way."

An hour or so later I visit Ulfric Stormcloak in Windhelm. Once I'm done, I stroll outside only to be confronted by a dragon staring at me. Lo and behold, it was the same dragon corpse with the same useless longsword and 12 arrows that I left with it. "I guess he just wanted to be my friend instead," I deduced. Thus began our wondrous romp across Skyrim.

I climb to the throat of the world? He followed me straight up the mountain. I clear out a tomb full of draugr? He would be waiting right outside the door with an encouraging stare. One time, I was wandering across some tundra and turned only to find that he had roped two bandits and a giant into joining my cheer squad as they all stared at me.

I never knew when my friend would show up, but we met dozens of times across our hours and hours of adventuring. He even introduced me to his cousins, aloof Paarthurnax who shouted his dialog at me while hovering hundreds of feet above the ground, and the amazing backwards flying dragon who flew from Riften to Markarth and back in four seconds (I had a quest marker on him and I could track his astounding achievements on the map). The dragons of Skyrim are truly an amazing lot.

I'll stick to games I've played.

Let me go back to my childhood for this: LEGO Island 2, which is simply a long cheap series of eclectic minigames that form a linear LEGO plotline. One of these minigames is a rail-shooter with a bi-plane in a jungle canyon. Most of the mechanics are pretty broken, but what's by far the worst is the plane's fuel consumption. By some design flaw, the fuel is consumed by an amount per frame, so running the game on modern PCs at 50-60 frames/sec will make the whole mini game impossible, and you cannot progress unless you use some external program to lock the framerate to something lower.

Mine's not really a funny one but the odd SWAT member in Payday 2 seems to have spent time with Goku and learnt instant transmission. We were camping in a room, hoping to hold out for the wave so we could make a break for it afterwards and some SWAT guys would occasionally appear in the room with us lol

My favorite Skyrim glitch is when I'm walking around and then a mammoth just falls out of the sky killing everything it lands on.

In Assassin's Creed 1, I was running through Masayaf when suddenly the game froze dead, although I could still rotate the camera. I noticed that I seemed to be surrounded by giant chickens - on closer inspection it was the NPC villagers, who had all been moved a metre down into the ground, but their heads had stayed in place, and their necks elongated to accommodate it. Really weird and not a little creepy.

In Assassin's Creed 2 I was walking around and saw a line of guards standing still, doing the standing-at-45-degrees move from Smooth Criminal. I helpfully shoved the one at the end and they righted themselves.

I had a pretty amusing bug in Warframe where I got 'crushed' under a Vault Door, which then (somehow) caused me to shoot down through the floor so fast I teleported above the level, whereupon I hit the ceiling at around (roughly) 36000km per second.

Needles to say I needed a revive after that.

Playing Farm Simulator a while back I was hooking up an attachment that had been knocked over. Once the connection was made the physics bugged out and my tractor was suddenly teleported into near Earth orbit

This right here should be enjoyable enough and contains a rather ominous voice to boot which makes it all the funnier.

Mine isn't funny but it is Ome of the worst I've encountered. In Dantesque inferno while riding a beast minion thing I fell through the floor at the exact as,e point two or three times in a row. I had to keep doing the am segment over and over until it stopped.

The Ebony Knight in Skyrim. Finally hit level 80 he shows up and challenges me to a fight. I died quite a few times fighting him, but on the last time I faught him I got him right next to a cliff, did the push shout and he glitched by flying into the sky. Never saw him again and never got the quest completed. I was pissed.

It's funny actually, if you taunt while you have the disguise list out, there is a small chance that the spy will act like a crab for a few seconds. I just find it kinda funny that even the game itself acknowledges how weird the spy crab looks. :p

OT:

Sonic 06 in general has some pretty crazy glitches.

The Silver fight in general:

And of course, any fan of Game Grumps knows about this little gem:

I've got a few that I found all on my own.

That one was due to removing the pre-rendered movies from the game folder, I think:

That one was due to using the Cain on the boss (you can hear the last of the explosion at the start):

That one... No idea what caused it:

And that one? Well it's Skyrim:
