Simple question - what's the funniest purely internet culture reference you have seen someone actually do. Could be in the sense of graffiti, costumes, people making references without someone else being aware - etc. And by internet culture I mean stuff like Pedo bear, Shoop da whoop, etc. Also can be extended to video game references. Can be something you saw someone else do or something you did.

Sadly, I haven't seen anyone do any internet references around me. Although I do lol at this vid - I have to say if I saw someone do this I'd just lul
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_oYpeKJTik

One time I was in a drug store and I was walking down an aisle and there was a shelf full of pill boxes and shouted "PILLZ HERE!!" but I don't think anyone got it. May have made other subtle references time to time, only once did someone get one of them though (I think more people just think I'm crazy, but hey :D ).

So has anyone seen any ridiculous or hilarious internet culture/game references in your day to day life?

Perhaps not hilarious or ridiculous, but I consider it plain awesome.

Last year (Or whenever the hell it was) when I was visiting New York and touring the city I found, in two completely different parts of the city, graffiti of the Triforce. It made me so happy to see it.

Someone once Rick Rolled our school if that counts. There are TV's throughout our school which play school news messages and stuff and one day some kids must of gotten onto the computer which replays the messages over and over and put the song on. The song was playing non stop for about half a day before someone changed it. Too bad there was no audio and just the video because the TV's have the volume turned down.

I've seen a black stenciled outline of pedo bear around 5 times in my city and in one of my many trips to Chicago I saw a graffiti of Nes that made me smile.

Once in school, my elderly teacher asked a math question and someone answered with, "An ay uff!".

This never happens to me. Occasionally someone will spurt out a Chuck Norris joke or say "lol" out loud but no one I know ever references anything from the 'Net. And when I try to, like saying "Boom Headshot" or referencing a movie line or anything, it falls on blank stares and deaf ears. The funniest Internet reference I've had at all recently was when my Otaku friend told me that I "won an Internets" when I got a question of his correct. That was pretty funny if only because the other guy in the room had no idea what was going on.

Welcome to the Escapist! Hope you enjoy our little community. There's some punch and pie on the table and the rules are thumbtacked to the door on the left. Have fun and don't piss off the mighty banhammer.

At my brother's graduation ceremony they played "never gonna give you up" as a rick roll reference
I was the only nerdy kid there not graduating, so only I got it.

Ah, reminds me that my old school had one of those HP printers just like in Office Space. Giving the infamous PC Load Letter. I was the tech so they told me to look at it, and the teacher was out of the room so I just said "PC Load Letter? The f$@* does that mean!?" but I dunno if anyone heard me or if they were just teh dumb.

I have a friend who just won't shut up about the cake, and it's falseness. I think he needs to spend some more time on the Internet.

My politics teacher got rickrolled when he was trying to show us some footage of the Democrat Primaries. I dunno if it counts in this thread, but holy crap it was funny

One of my football coaches used the term 'Epic Fail' once.

Sadly, it seemed quite awkward and I felt nothing but pity (and a little well of respect).

There were Lemon Party posters hung up around the neighborhood store (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Operation_Lemonparty if you don't understand).

Well, I think it speaks for itself.
When I saw this in the news paper I almost busted a lung laughing so hard. Really awkward moment on the train I tell you.

May the rick keep and bless you
duh, yes, this.

Also there's a tiny cafe I think in london, which does (or did) Rick's Rolls with the tagline "once you try them you're never gonna give them up." Don't ask me where, I don't know london at all.

Ehh...usually once it crosses into real life, it's not as humorous, because everyone overuses it and kills it.

Promoting lemonparty is still funny, though.
