Hey guys! My girlfriend recently got into gaming. She's been playing Little Big Planet and games from PSN Store on her brother's PS3 and she would like to get more into gaming. However, she is the sensitive, artistic type and does not like shooters or too violent games. I promised her I would get something and I don't know what exactly. I am thinking either Final Fantasy 13 when it comes out or Folklore since both are more artistic and focused on story but I would be grateful for your opinions.

Hmm, you could try a movie game, my sister seems to love those... You could also try and see if she'd enjoy Portal. If all else fails, there's Bejweled or Hexic and the like...

Forgot about that. My sister loved that game. Try getting your girlfriend to play that.

Get her an artsy fartsy game like Okami. She'll be too distracted by the beauty to think about gameplay.

I'd say Spore, Okami, pretty much any puzzle game. My girlfriend loves the mario games, but then again she's pretty much a gamer as well so..

Any sort of game that involves playing an instrument might be good. If she is all artsy 'n stuff, perhaps you should get an rts were you can win by only making buildings, like age of empires 2, and then have her put all the towers in cool designs.

I managed to convince a artsy girl I know that videogames are awesome by lending her Eternal Sonata for a few weeks, though I'm sure any JRPG would be a good idea.

Mirrors Edge and the newest Prince of Persia game. They're not very violent games and have an interesting artistic style.

Believe it or not, I've gotten a girl into Bioshock (mostly because she's a fan of Ayn Rand, but still...). She wasn't interested in violent games, but she saw me playing and was intrigued Then again, in your case, this might not necessarily be the best solution...

How about Portal? It's not violent, it's funny, and it's fun as hell. Plus, The Orange Box is pretty cheap now, or you could get it through Steam for a very good price.

If you have a DS or a Wii, Phoenix Wright got my gf into gaming. Outside of that, I'm not quite sure.

DDR or rock band.
This or Guitar Hero better yet if her brother already has the necessary guitars, drums, or microphone. Music games are the biggest casual gaming product and are actually good, but more expensive with extras.
