I wish I could get into other people's heads, but since I can't, I'll just have to rely on your answers. Anyways, my question is this. When you're playing a game, do you like your mind to be active while you're playing it? or do you like the kind of no thought simple reaction state that I enjoy so much when I'm playing games. I realize this probably depends on the kind of game, but which do you like better?

Depends on the mood I'm in. If I'm upset about something, I want just mindless 'do stuff' gaming. If I'm not upset...you know, just normal, then I like my games to have an engaging story with clever gameplay elements and the like (Someone find me THAT game, eh?).

So, most of the time I like to think, at least a bit.

Bioshock is great both ways. When you're on autopilot, shoot stuff, strafe, yadda yadda.
But when you're feeling a bit more creative, sic a Big Daddy on a room full of a splicers and then run around hacking all the missile turrets. Then sit back and take pictures of the mayhem with your camera. And of course the story is exceptional.
