So... I popped in Ghost Recon Future Soldier to get a bit of online shooter fix last night and what happens in my 1st game? A teammate using flashbangs with no common sense whatsoever. He just chucks a flashbang as I'm leaving the spawn and I get killed because he blinds me. This happens in like every shooter, I swear like 90% of players don't know how to use flashbangs and actually cause more problems from their team. In Ghost Recon, it's extremely common to see players flashbang themselves even. Flashbangs are something that players should have to go through some grueling tests and get certification to use. I feel the same about smoke grenades as well, "So you just put up a smoke screen while you cap the objective when the enemy knows where the objective is and can grenade it while you screen your own teammates from seeing and killing said enemies? Great Job! A+ work!"

What is your item(s) that you feel should require certification to use?

The Perfect Dark Farsight. And you should have to have a certification of legal blindness so you can't use it.

Boomer Bile in L4D2, and you should have a certificate of horrible accuracy and worse timing. I insist you only throw it when we're in a tight, enclosed space and you tried to get it through the window to distract the horde but it bounced off the railing and hit all four of us, and also we have no medkits, low on ammo and there's a witch outside.

Any vehicle ever, with a certification showing you understand the game's physics engine. I want you to take that tank and drive it straight up a mountain at a 90 degree angle with only your wits and technically getting purchase on a small rock to guide you.

Stun grenades in general, with a certificate of never using them on the enemies, only on other teammates to grief them.

Ranked play is your certification. If you know what you're doing, you get to play with other people who know what they're doing. If you're tired of stupid teammates, then either your own play needs work or you're not playing ranked.

Ranked play isn't an option in every game.

Not strictly game items but:

In Heroes of the Storm, there are a number of abilities that essentially temporarily remove a target from any sort of interaction. Zeratul's Void Prison, Zagara's Devouring Maw, Medivh's Ley Line Seal. These abilities can be powerful, allowing you to split the enemy team or delay them so your own team can regroup or reposition or to peel etc etc. Alot of people spam these abilities all willy nilly. Often saving the opposing team from your own team's ults and such. Devouring Maw is kinda terrible in that it creates a massive blockade - potentially trapping your own allies. Who will immediately get ganked once the targets get released. We would be in the middle of beating up the out of position enemy and suddenly bam, that stupid ass Medivh put them in stasis. The rest of their team group up and stasis wears off - there goes our advantage.

And I assure you, even in ranked play will there be bumbling idiots anyway.
