The pieces were coming together. The game board was taking shape. Soon the great game would begin.
Standing over a shimmering pool of light, a gangly figure poked and prodded with his staff. Tall and decrepit, the creature murmured inconsequentially to itself. Illuminated by the otherworldly light, the twisted being?s form was a shocking assault on reality. A mighty bird head nodded as it spoke arcane rituals, great scaly fingers contorting into various symbols. Sprouting out from robes of a continuously-shifting hue were two immense feathered wings, slowly molting from inactivity. This was a servant of the Chaos God Tzeentch; a dreaded Lord of Change. The monster and his kin often manipulated the very fabric of the universe to further the Great Plan, and for their general amusement. However, this one worked furiously, with a purpose.
The beast?s name, unspeakable by mortal tongues, had been lost to the ages. Called The Charlatan by the Eldar, the Merchant of Lies by the Tau, and Da Great Flappy Winged Fing by the Orks, the Daemon cared not for titles. When he consorted with his mortal playthings, he preferred the alias of For?Lall?Khai?Naan; translated loosely into ?The Shifter of Fates? in the ancient tongue of Terra, it spoke of it?s true purpose in this world. The Shifter of Fates delighted in shattering the very flow of the future, causing cataclysm across the galaxy. While his schemes often benefited the Great Plan very little, or even directly opposed it, the Shifter cared not. He enjoyed watching his pawns playing their own game, reinventing the rules of the game by the minute. Now, he prepared for his greatest show?now he was ready to set up his game.

All across the galaxy, great portals of light burst into form for a split second. In the time it took for a rat?s heart to beat, many vanished from the known universe. When they awoke, they were disoriented and lost, with no guide other than a maniacal cackling ringing in their ears.
Hey guys, I?ve been missing the RP/Game forums recently, and so I thought I would try my own game. For this game, it will be a simple character bash from the Warhammer 40,000 universe. All are welcome, regardless of your knowledge of the universe, but it is first come, first serve. For those new to a character bash, you write up the most powerful, terrifying, ?Kick-ass-and-chew-bubblegum?* character you can, and we throw them against each other in a tournament-style battle royale until there is only one left standing. Here are the rules for making your character, just for starters.
*[sub]There is no gum[/sub]
1). Your character must be an HQ choice from a current WH40K codex, with a maximum points limit of 200 points.
2). No special characters!
3). While it?s not necessary, a back story for your character is very helpful. Give him/her/it some character, and in turn he/she/it will have a more interesting description for their epic clash with their foe.
4). Only one player can have a single type of character. For example, there will only be one Wolf Lord for the Space Wolves, one Ork Warboss, and so on. There can be more than one entry per race, but not more than one entry per unit type. So get your choice in soon, so you get your preference.
Any of those interested, please PM me so I can approve your choice (make sure it?s legal, etc), and then prepare for glory. Anyone who is interested, but doesn?t know anything about Warhammer 40,000, never fear! I can write up a character for anyone interested, and they can play through that way. Just check out the Warhammer 40,000 races at http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/landing.jsp?catId=cat370002&rootCatGameStyle= and then let me know which one you like the looks of; if that character is free, I?ll write you up one.
In closing, let the games begin.
UPDATE May 21, 2010
