Why do I think the very ending of Game of Thrones will end with a bunch of teenagers playing a pen and paper RPG around a kitchen table

It certainly has that "well, I thought those were the heroes of the story but now they've gotten themselves killed..." feeling that pervades pen and paper RPGs!

That fan theory has been circulating for a while now.

While I have no idea how the whole tangled mess is going to get resolved in 2 books, I hope the D & D ending does not happen. I think it more likely it will end with a permanent winter and eternal darkness settling over Westeros (as nearly all its inhabitants richly deserve)

From a logistical point of view a lot of people are going to need to die, because there are way too many characters for the plot to progress.

I'd be happy if Winter actually ended up coming. Because from what I've read of the books The Wall part of the story has not moved fast enough.

The 5th book makes an effort to move it along a bit........kinda.......sorta.........not entirely.

I've read all of them so far, and just don't think that he's ever going to get round to finishing that part of the plot. When I started reading I thought that Winter would definitely come by the end of the first book...how naive I was.

yeah that whole "winter is coming" thing is getting a little annoying. By the time the ice-zombie-whatevers show up, everyone will have already been murder-torture-castrated already.
