I recently moved into college, several cities away from my hometown, and have been talking to my sister by phone. She recently told me that she has been very bored with our family's lack of videogames (We actually have tons on the PS2 console
) and wanted new games to play. I didn't really know anything to recommend that she liked, so instead I turn to you for my first forum post, escapist!
My sister is really fond of all three Shadow Hearts games, and the Kingdom Hearts series up to the second game. Sadly, we own an Xbox 360 and not a PS3, so we can't buy Birth by Sleep, the newest in the KH series. She is also very fond of the Dynasty Warriors and Warriors Orochi games, which if you don't know are rather good beat-um-ups on our PS2. The only real link I can think of between these games are KH and SH being JRPG type games, and all of the above being games wherein you play as badasses with somewhat cool combat mechanics that break away from the Final Fantasy menu based conbat.
As a few points, she mentioned not liking the Final Fantasy games such as FFX that we own due to the gameplay (Still not sure about this, I don't know if she has tried them yet
), and she is very, very much NOT a hardcore gamer that is willing to overlook bad graphics. I can't even get her to try SNES era rpg games that I am in love with like Illusion of Gaia or Chrono Trigger, or even the older PS1 games like FF7 or the Star Ocean games.
Got any suggestions, Escapist? Thanks!
