Don't you just hate it when you buy a game you beat it or it plain sucks ass. So you take it back to the store and you don't get full price for it. I mean what a rip off even if you have a receipt you don't get full price. Even if it's one day later I mean they don't do this with any other product and this has pissed me off for as long as I can remember. Anyone agree?

That's why you either buy it second hand or buy it cheap to begin with.

I would go on about how second hand games don't help the industry, but they told us to butt out of this, so fuck 'em.

Not really, I tell them I want a full refund because "The game was scratched". Not at all thrown off the second story of a building or used to play frisby because that was all it was good for....

I just say it doesn't work, 80% of the time I get a full refund (If I have receipt). But I would say, if you beat a game, you can't expect them to refund you 100% or else thats just getting stuff for free. Fair enough if it sucks though.

i'm more pissed off at how Gamestop does not accept used PC games, seeing as i would easily get back almost 500 dollars if i did turn them in, and i would probably buy games with it.. so yea, f*ck 'em.

I play PC games generally. Going to a store to get my games seems so...20th century.

Seriously, it's called ECONOMICS.

Learn it, love it, live it.

If they sell you a game for $60 US, they don't care what happens to it afterwards. If you return with it, it'll screw them over to pay $60 back to you and then sell it with the required "used" tag on it.

If you see a game with "Used" written on it, do you want to pay $60? Of course not.

That's why it makes sense to only give you $20.

My local Gamestop has a 1 week return policy. If you don't like your purchase, it's defective, or whatever reason, just bring it back within a week (Reciept included mind you) and you get your money back. The whole system isn't perfect, but there's really no better solution. (Either way, somebody gets the short end of the stick.)

This is nothing compared to this horrendous store called Cash Converters, not really a chain but when I took in about 12 PS1 games (crappy ones bear in mind), they offered £2.50/$5 for the whole lot.

SERIOUSLY. I know they're crappy PS1 games but not even £2.50 EACH??? Sod off.

That's not snobby at all..
Well, why don't consoles have full fledged digital distribution yet? It would cut out the business model of places like EB that are so detrimental to the industry, and we certainly have the technology. Its definitely a strength in PC gaming the Consoles just haven't capitalized on yet.

I dont go to my local eb or anything anymore. Currently its cheaper for me to buy a game from a UK or PAL region store and deliver it here. Im in Aus, btw.

The difference is quite good since I import the games roughly for $60-70 including shipping or can walk over to eb and pay $100-110 for a new release. Its an absolute joke.

I usually buy used games and I make sure it is a game that I WILL like. My dad got pretty mad when he found out that the game I bought cost 20 bucks less at the other gamestop. I told him not to worry about it, that it was my money and my choice. It was definitely worth the extra 20 to get my hands on Tactics though. God I LOVE that game...
Anyway, I don't usually encounter problems such as this and I probably won't care when I do. I am just carefree like that.

it's called the cost of convenience. If you don't like it, then don't use the system or find a way to do it better, and through competition the market will adjust in favor of the consumer.
