After shrekfan's "Sonic '06 is better than Portal" thread, it has become readily apparent that some of the user base here doesn't "get" satire so to speak.

But by the way, advertising your own work is a big no-no here.

It's not very good as satire. Although obviously it was an attempt to poke fun at Fox news it is still throwing an opinion in a way that is not totally respectful.

The idea is more that the news outlets try and blame it all on things like video games etc when the news breaks. Thus throwing it back in their faces is the ironic turn around, not a genuine opinion. Notice no actual people involved in any school shooting or places are mentioned, this is pure introverted satire of the media, not of the event. Fox News are obviously not to blame, the blame resides in a huge amount of varying factors that cannot be held individually accountable, but the idea they turn on gamers for an excuse is fine, whereas turning the blame to them is somehow not allowed.

So yeah, no opinions in here other than Fox News is tripe.

Frankly you cant blame anyone but the shooter. Hes the one who got a weapon and used it. Thats why your satire fails IMO

When people start flinging mud the best thing to do is to join in? I have overdosed on stupid opinionated comments about these shootings and honestly any video game blame is on least offensive end of the spectrum.

Oh, ok, that makes more sense. I read the part at the end where it said "Bill O'Reilly resigned" thinking it was serious and almost lost it.(Bill being one of my favorite commenators *grabs mountain of flameshields that will likely not help at all*)


I am going to go with I dont think this was that good. The media ALWAYS vilifies some form of popular media to throw societies problems on. Before videogames, it was movies. Before movies, it was comics. Before Comics, it was rock-and-roll. It will always happens, so why bother complaining about it.
