My team has recently released a game as part of my Games and Interactive Entertainment course at Queensland University of Technology. There's about 30-40 teams who have just released games here, and I'm curious what other games have emerged from other courses around the world!
>tl;dr If you're a student and have released a game at some point, tell us where you attend(ed), and what sort of games resulted from your course! (Link me! I have a few days to play through ALL the games!
)
Are any universities focusing on larger projects? App development perhaps? In Australia, app development seems to be the current focus thanks to pretty much every big studio closing in the last few years.
In my course, it's a requirement that games are released through IndieDB. The overall quality of games has been pretty good I think, considering the small teams and general inexperience over the semester long development period. I've play-tested a whole heap of them along the way, and there's definitely some standouts that come to mind! Crank for example, is number 11 on IndieDB today! Robot Misfits, Inertial Bash and Leo IlluminArty are my other favorites. I'll get them to post their stuff here shortly
The game my team developed is an addictive, cute, and fun game called Tiki Toki Toy Machine, and if you're interested it's totally free on the Google Play store
EDIT: I asked for links, and didn't post one myself: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.morganKennedyTesting.TikiTokiToyMachine
