Since this is my first time creating a new thread on the escapist I will try to keep this thread to Highest possible standards. If any one knows of a similar thread please tell me.

Anyway

I Was just wondering is there a game everyone else hates that you love?

an example of this is...

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl: Everyone else hated this game for the bugs an glitches. I loved this game because of its original idea, setting and story. Also this was the first game that I was genuinely scared while playing.

I believe this thread has been done several times before, but... I have to say that I really liked Crackdown. I heard a lot of people hated the game as just shovelware for the Halo 3 beta, but I loved the game.

Yes there is one or two of this type.
To answer your question, I like Halo. I'm sure there are others but I can't think of them at the minute.

Infinite Undiscovery, I like that game... theres a lot of hate for it, because it doesn't meet the required length of a typical RPG (idiots) that being said I have played better (Persona 2 for instance)

I really enjoyed Halos 1-3, although I wouldn't say loved. Judging by the reaction on these forums you'd think Halo was actually some form of ebola-like virus.

I loved Too Human, don't actually know if other people liked it, but Gamespot definitely didn't. I also loved C&C3, along with Kane's Wrath. I guess a few people liked this game, but all my friends around where I live, won't touch it with another person's 10 ft pole.

I couldn't agree more. I absolutely loved Crackdown and months after it was released, I was still hunting for my last agility orb (I found it in the end).

Another one is Assassin's Creed. People shat on that game, but I thought it was groundbreaking, beautiful and tons and tons of fun. Its story was absolutely kick-ass. I don't remember the last time I followed a videogame's plot so closely. I can't wait for AC2.

I don't know if this counts, but Chrono Cross received a lot of bullshit from Chrono Trigger fans for not being the messiah game, but I thought it was superb and in many ways better than its predecessor. I also like Radical Dreamers which a lot of people didn't like because it was a text adventure.

Ah yes, I still have yet to find all the orbs. It's gotten to the point where I play the game, and start having auditory hallucinations of the little noise they make. I'm serious. THEY'RE IN MY HEAD MAN! THEY'RE IN MY HEAD!

The new Prince of Persia and Assasins Creed.
I don't personally know anyone who has played the new PoP, judging from the outrageously high ratings it's been getting from lots of sources, and the overall meta-score of 85, I don't know that PoP really qualifies for games everyone hates. Assassin's Creed seems popular to rip on as well, but I know more people that like it than don't...

On topic, I think I'll go old-school. Sim Tower. Awful in nearly every way, formulaic, and woefully easy, and yet I love it...

Brand new one for me, I-Fluid. Its this really weird platformer game where you play a drop of water trying to reach a finish line without being absorbed by paper towels, evaporated by hot surfaces, drunk by bugs and the like. Its a crazy enough idea to really stimulate the, "Games as art" hippie in me. But everyone hates it because the support is terrible: You have to move around dlls to play it at all, the update deleted everyone's saved games, and you definitely fall through solid objects at random intervals for no reason. But its just such a wild idea, I can't help but give it the thumbs up.
