Games Everyone's Played But You.

I was thinking of getting an original xbox to game on the cheap with its exclusives(and PC ports)that I missed last generation and it got me thinking. After never playing Halo single player, never playing Jade Empire, never playing KOTOR, never playing Earthbound, never playing Mass Effect, Half Life, World of warcraft, Modern warfare, Final Fantasy X, psychonauts, whatever,I get strange looks and feel extremely out of the entire loop that is the collective gaming community. What, if you could choose one game, most alienates you from the community for never playing?

Bioshock. It just never interested me enough to bother. The list of games I've never played that I probably should have is much, much bigger, though.

I've never played KOTOR. I'm quite alright with that. I don't feel excluded as a result, I've played plenty of other good games.

You've never played Mass Effect, I immediately dislike you!
But, as a point, I've never alot of famous PC games (Deus Ex, Pain Killer, Baldurs Gate, Warcraft, Starcraft, any MMO ever)
And, though I've played it, I'm not good at, nor do I like, Guitar Hero.

Well, i've never played any JRPGs (Final Fantasy series in it's entirety included) in my life. And probably never will, because it's like cake with coconut flakes on top - some may like it, i do not. So you could say i'm missing out on entire genre.

Come to think of it, i'm not too keen on western RPGs either.

And oh, i have never ever played Deus Ex. Just have no intrest. Sue me.

Eh, that's a funny thing for me not to notice, I listed mostly western RPG's in the OP. Ha, must be my fandom of the genre showing.

I've just been recently catching up on console games myself. Before I picked up a ps3, I've been missing out on a lot of titles that have been receiving a lot of good compliments from other gamers.. Being mostly a pc gamer at that time I've come to terms that "in my eyes mind you" the pc gaming world was turning to shit...

Either that or it was me finding out that the super computer that could see through walls with it's high def x-ray vision that I bought last year is already out of date that most games these days would not run on it...

I guess the one game that alienates me for never playing would have to be the third installment of WoW... Where I live.. There are like 3 gamers like me that know the world of gaming beyond WoW and then there are 500 thousand WoW players that refuse to try any other title..

Maybe it's not a title that alienates me from the entire community of gamers, but in this town, I get looked at funny if I bring up a game that is anything BUT WoW.

Perhaps the town is alienated from the collective gaming community for overlooking other titles?

((No offense to WoW players in this post... I don't have a problem with people who play WoW, it's just the ones in this town get on my nerves a bit...))

WoW, the Legend of Zelda games, actually a lot of PC and nintendo titles. And playstation ones. I'm an xbox guy.

Really, just about any game that isn't a city-builder, historic-themed RTS, Civilization-style game, or Bethesda Game Studios RPG.

I've only ever played 2 FPS games in my life: Goldeneye & Serious Sam 2. Slow reflexes & beuing easily distracted probably have something to do with that, but my fellow RTSRPG/TBSRPG gamers usually tell me "You've played one shooter, you've played them all." I also haven;t gotten around to playing Portal yet & refuse to try WoW (I hate their designs).

I'm so behind on games I don't even bother anymore. I'll play what interests me most first, and if I'm looking for other stuff, I'll get to it. I wish I could play more, but it's just not going to happen so I'll live with it.

Due to not having a PS2, I haven't played any of the stellar games available there...and that's just for starters.
