Hey. I just bought a netbook [http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-N110-12PBK-10-1-Inch-Black-Netbook/dp/B0021AFXZO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=pc&qid=1253254529&sr=1-1] and though I bought it primarily to use for my online classes, but I couldn't resist installing Doom2 and Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic. This got me wondering what else I could install?

1.6 Intel Atom CPU
2GB RAM
512 shared VRAM

Any suggestions?

Starcraft, Doom, maybe Diablo...netbooks arent for gaming. Try solitaire?
I fucking love Solitaire.

Age of Empires (any of them, really) is a fun game. There are also plenty of good online games you can find for free just by searching around.

I would not recommend that ever. Alienware has terrible overheating problems.

Where did you get this info?
From my personal experience and the experiences of many others.
Most are poorly built and fry themselves. Mine burnt a hole through the motherboard. I've heard of others melting their graphics cards and processors, the suckers just can't take the heat.

Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics. You can get a bundle of them for $15 or so and go for ages without needing to buy another game.

Strange, years in Dell support after Dell took over Alienware you would think I would have taken a great many returns regarding this issue. I also witnessed the process by which these systems are built, I assure you "poorly built" is something you made up. Like everything, you get what you pay for, still sometimes a flawed system would get through. High end system complaints are extremely rare by the way.

Don`t see many if any complaints about it here either.

Perhaps you had a lemon.
Entirely possible, although most PC gamers I've spoken to on this site build their own machine. I think I'll shy away from Alienware for a while, bleeding edge isn't that much my style.

Alienware has gone into the crapper since DELL bought them. That's right, Alienware is nothing more than a Dell in a pretty box.

Build it yourself, when I built this machine for $1500 I went and priced it on Alienware, they wanted $5000.

Wait a week and direct2drive should have the whole set for $5, they're having some kind of sale and next week is RPGs.

Oh, and don't buy netbooks. They're made of cheap parts and tend to overheat, even more than a normal laptop. They're build for surfing the net, hence the name.

I've never had a problem with mine. It doesn't get nearly as hot as my old powerbook. There's nothing in there that generates a lot of heat; I think the processor pulls like 5 watts.

Never buy Alienware. NEVER.

What you buy when you buy Alienware is the name and the aesthetics. For the price, the hardware is distinctly subpar, and that's all that's important when you're buying a gaming PC.
what do you recommend?
taking into account that I'm not computer savvy enough to build it
